Submitted by: littlemissqt 2 weeks ago in News & Politics Science

This sounds like a trap -- first they learn to say hello and act all nice -- then they kill you. They're KILLER WHALES, PEOPLE!

There's a big difference between "mimicking" and "talking".

Talking is a verbal form of communication. It requires the communicator to understand what it is they are saying in order for it to be considered "talking". Otherwise it's nothing more than making a noise similar to the one being heard... which is mimicking.

Killer Whales are actually in the Dolphin family.

Should we call them Murder Dolphins?

daegog I think they're a separate enough group? But yeah more closely related to dolphins than whales that's true. :-)
Orca, that's their proper name...
