Gerry1of1 I have them, you can get them via Amazon.UK...or torrent that shit!  They are absolutely amazing works.  Fry does all of the voices perfectly...again it's quite impressive.

It's my favorite audio book series to listen to while going to sleep :)

He also does a version of Hitchhikers Guide as well.

dm2754 His intellect and humour.   Also he's a great comedian.  Bit of Fry & Laurie is a great show.  And he was in   Blackadder.   Wooster and Jeeves was good too

Stephen Fry is unfailing courageous about coming out with his problems: his homosexuality, his bipolarity, religious reviews and his cancer. Each time, he does it in great detail and leverages his fame to educate and heal all those who will listen.

I can't even come out about my smoking.

It's risky to fight against God.  I wouldn't.

monkwarrior RIP Billy Graham at 99. Although he was treated for cancer in recent years, according to his spokesperson, he did not die because of it.
What are your thoughts on Billy Graham? Was he worthy of your God's grace?

bill_watson sorry symbolab proves the equation is wrong, go try it out.  first type 6/2(1+2)  to get 1, and then copy and paste it in to get 9. looks like you might have the comprehension issue about facts.

monkwarrior I don't think it's any riskier than fighting against any given imaginary friend.

Draculya Those who would lump the living God as imaginary would no doubt think such poor reasoning, much to their own peril.

Gerry1of1 God is known in many ways, He always makes a path to Him.  In fact, i wouldn't be surprised if someone in the Jedi religion,  say using lessons from IV V and VI, could eventually find their way down the path to Him.  After all, God is love, and encompass all of the things a Jedi would, and more..

Gerry1of1 A good reply because our friend the monk just violated his own Dogma.  If you consider "Jedi" a religion and a "path to him" then that places "Jedi" over\equal to "Jesus".  That is Blasphemy.

It also shows that an imaginary "religion" created by a bloated Hollywood writer\director\producer is just as influential as a book written and edited by a government over 2K years ago.

The Derp is Derp de Derp with this one...

kalron27   That "imaginary religion" as you describe it is no more unlikely than any other..... what does that tell you about those other religions

monkwarrior   Hmmmm interesting thought.
If fighting disease is a "fight against God" then why do so many people win?
If they beat cancer does that mean they defeated God?  But isn't God unbeatable?
Maybe your God is fallible and can lose a fight with a mere mortal.

My husband must be a GOD because he fought cancer and he won!
He won the fight against God !

Gerry1of1 Mr Fry is an outspoken public atheist, a very dangerous and risky position.

monkwarrior Christians also get cancer. And they don't let their faith be disturbed by it:
Cancer cannot...
1. stop the Holy Spirit's ministry in your life.
2. cripple your love.
3. steal away the joy in your heart.
4. destroy your peace.
5. diminish your faith in God.
6. overcome your courage.
7. invade your heart.
8. silence your worship and thanksgiving before God.
9. shut out your past memories.
10. lessen the power of God’s grace.
11. stop Jesus from caring for you.
12. hinder God’s purpose for your life.
13. stop you from growing in your Christian life.
14. shatter your future hope.
15. reduce eternal life.

In many ways atheists would deal with cancer in the same ways, they'd just use different language.

monkwarrior "Bone cancer in children? What's that about? How dare you? How dare you create a world in which there is such misery that is not our fault? It's not right. It's utterly, utterly evil. Why should I respect a capricious, mean-minded, stupid God, which is so full of injustice and pain." - Fry on what he'd say if he met God after death.

When you say "dangerous and risky" do you imply a causal relationship between Fry's views and his cancer?

monkwarrior If there is no causal link, what do you mean with what you say? What's the risk? What's the danger?!

I can assure you, atheists don't fear something they believe does not exist. They do fear what people do in the name of a false God.

dm2754 only people who don't understand God would say that.  But i suppose by your reasoning you would also be saying anyone who commits abortion is evil? If not you're being stupid.

Gerry1of1 Congrats on your husband surviving cancer.  My mom unfortunately succumbed to the effects of cancer.  What does that say about someone who was fighting the disease and lost?  That God won?

Well that is a pretty selfish and petty God then.
