Part of me would of been very tempted to punch the kid in the face or even strangle him. The parents are not taking care of their child. Even if the child has other issues, the parents still have the ability to teach the child to behave. My brother was diagnosed with ADHD when he was 6 or 7, and he was better behaved than this little shit thanks to my parents disciplining him from an early age and finding ways to keeping him calm and, mostly, still.

I'm going for Autism, there was something seriously wrong with that child. What I cant believe is that the flight crew let that continue for the whole flight, they stop flights and let of out of control adults, why not this demon? If I had of been on that plane, I would have stabbed that kid in the eyes with some complementary chopsticks or something, the screaming might have been less.

This child needs a straight old fashioned over the knee ass whooping. When we are in public, and if my little ones start to misbehave...All I have to do is give “The look” with the finger point and they sulk down into their seats because they know better lol They know that mama means business and isn’t afraid to put a spark in their ass if needed.

pinkminx22 My mother was also a master of "The Look" when we were growing up. Whenever me or my bother got the look, we knew we were going to be in major trouble if we kept continuing acting up.

The air waitresses should be holding the parents accountable for their children's Behavior

This is what happens when you don't hit your kids.

layla_wilson While i agree in theory, if you hit your kid in public, you should expect a visit from CPS.

layla_wilson There's absolutely nothing wrong with a reasonable spanking if the situation calls for it. All you have to do is spank your kid one, explain why you're doing it, and you'll never have to spank your kid again. It sends a message.

My wife and I raised 7 children - some of them quite willful, and never had to resort to hitting them.
Pretty easy to raise kids that don't act like the one in this video; You model respectful behaviors in the home. You teach your kids - from the earliest ages - about manners, respect, self-respect, and boundaries.
The kid in this video illustrates a complete failure in parenting, and that's who should catch a beating, not the kid, who is merely doing what he's been trained to do.

The person recording shouldn't have tried to be secretive. I would have taken the phone, pointed it at he woman and stated that this was the mother letting it all happen. Maybe shame her into doing something.

That started while the plane was waiting to take off.  It should have never taken off with that going on in the cabin

I’m going to show this to my mother, who I believe (with possibly a small amount of bias) is the best mother on the planet, what she would do in this situation. I will post her reply here, but I’m quite sure she will say something like, “I would have told that mother, ‘You discipline your child, or I will discipline you.’”

I was absolutely not allowed to act that way at any age, and my parents did spank me on occasion. In no way do I feel as though I was abused, and I consider myself to have been a good kid who grew into a fine adult.

That being said, I agree with Trimble. The misuse of medication is not the answer. But a swift smack on the ass is.

I can't believe all of the people suggesting drugging the child. Benadryl as toddler, Adderall by second grade, Prozac by high school, zombie by 18 and then you blaming the gun.

trimble That kid is already lost. If he is acting like that, unless he has a serious mental issue, he is already such a brat that you can not fix it.

paulmartinfr Yep, and it's the patents fault. They let him get away with this since the day he could walk.

trimble I'd have de-boarded him. In cuffs. Bloodied, if necessary.

trimble The difference here is maybe you are rich?

If you hit that kid, you could totally be looking at a fairly long and expensive court battle to prove you are not a child abuser.

Folks have been turned in to CPS for rather simple smacks on the butt.

I agree, that discipline is probably a issue here, but I understand the world we live in, and you just cant hit kids like you used to.

daegog I'd say that the misuse of medication is child abuse not discipline. That said, just how did we get to the sad state of affairs you mention?

trimble I second this. It's a kid. Kids do crap like that.
I'll take that kid anytime over the idiots who plant their feet up, bin hogs and aisle blockers, those who bitch about seat recliners, the middle of the night "readers", the morons who keep their windows open with full sun, etc.

No one on that plane had a spine? Seriously grown adults are making passive aggressive videos about toddlers screaming on an airplane? Stand up and yell at that little bastard like his absent father should have long ago.
