Ryan Seacrest: What Happened After I Was Wrongly Accused Of Harassment

Submitted by: trimble 8 months ago in Entertainment News & Politics

Last fall, Ryan Seacrest was among the many famous, powerful men accused of sexual misconduct – but, he says, he was officially exonerated late last week.

In a new guest column for The Hollywood Reporter, the Seacrest reflected on the stress of the accusations and promised to continue using his many public platforms to continue calling for change within the industry.

In the article, Seacrest recalled how, last November, approximately a month after news broke of Harvey Weinstein’s decades of sexual harassment and assault, he received a letter from a lawyer representing a former show stylist who claimed he had "mistreated" her more than a decade ago, when both he and she worked at the E! Network.

An excerpt from the piece:

To have my workplace conduct questioned was gut-wrenching. I’ve always aimed to treat all of my colleagues with honesty, respect, kindness and compassion. Yet, I knew, regardless of the confidence I had that there was no merit to the allegations, my name would likely soon appear on the lists of those suspected of despicable words and deeds. The pressures of our overflowing newsfeeds would insist on it.

He was accused of harassment of a colleague in a business context, not for rape or assault. AFAIK he was accused in a civil suit for damages as opposed to being accused in criminal court of a crime. It came just after the Weinstein scandal broke. The complaint dropped the suit after failing to provide evidence.

While authorities should take all allegations of rape seriously, the courts and the public should treat the accused as innocent until proven guilty.

Why is he "weaseling" out of it? Investigation was done. He came out clean

Oh wait..... no one can be not guilty. He must have hidden the evidence right?

Now, how come he could get exonerated no problems, but all these other guys get accused, yell fake news and head for the hills.

I wonder what country Kevin Spacey is hiding out in?

No way. Ryan Seacrest is gay. This is another one of his plants to seem straight. This is nothing new for him.
