#MeToo Movement Lawmaker Investigated For Sexual Misconduct Allegations

Submitted by: trimble 8 months ago in News & Politics

An alleged "grope" three years ago at a softball game by Christina Garcia (left) by staffer Daniel Fierro (right) might be taking the #MeToo movement to a new level.

An excerpt from Politico:

California Assemblywoman Cristina Garcia — whose high-profile advocacy of the #MeToo movement earned her national media notice — is herself the subject of a state legislative investigation in the wake of a report that she sexually harassed and groped a former legislative staffer.

Daniel Fierro of Cerritos told POLITICO that in 2014, as a 25-year-old staffer to Assemblyman Ian Calderon, he was groped by Garcia, a powerful Democratic lawmaker who chairs the Legislative Women’s Caucus and the Natural Resources Committee.

He said she cornered him alone after the annual Assembly softball game in Sacramento as he attempted to clean up the dugout. Fierro, who said Garcia appeared inebriated, said she began stroking his back, then squeezed his buttocks and attempted to touch his crotch before he extricated himself and quickly left.

I am immediately suspicious of anyone like Garcia who are outspoken opponents of sexual misconduct.  Very often they themselves are deviants.  Same with people who are most vocal about their outrage over pedophiles.  "The lady doth protest too much, methinks."

I call for equality.

She must lose her career and reputation based solely on the accusation.    Just like a man would.

Gerry1of1 She denies the accusation, but she has voluntarily taken a leave of absence without pay while it is being investigated.  If it turns out the accusations are false, the accusers need to have their asses kicked.

skeeter01   Once again women get off easy.  She gets a "voluntary leave" while men would just be fired permanently.

Gerry1of1 I don't know if that's entirely true.  Sure, some have been canned - the most egregious offenders, so that action is well deserved.  But even some of the egregious offenders (Trump comes to mind here) remain in their positions, and are even having their actions defended by their fans.

If these men would volunteer for unpaid leave during the investigation, I would say that is a fair approach.  But that's not happening, and it's doubtful it ever will.

I give this woman props - she's doing the right thing.  And if it turns out to be true, she has effectively been fired immediately.

He/she who yells the loudest about something usually has something to hide.

markust123      She's mad because no one has harassed her, nor ever will from the look of her.

Well, looky there... The Washington Post - the so-called bastion of leftist reporting - reported on something that, if true, doesn't color a democratic assemblywoman very nicely.  Kinda negates the claims of the MSM haters, doesn't it?

dm2754 Does it happen every week, at every bar, with every male boss, or every time you go to the beach? Or just every once in a while? That's what the movement is about.

Love how you alllivesmattered the metoo movement.

bliznik The problem is that woman absolutely love it depending on who is doing the "harassing". When no one does it they wonder why no one likes them. This is actually feminism's fault. Before feminism, sluts got shamed and most "players" had to actually have some status to bang every girl he makes eye contact with. Now thanks to feminism, all it takes is "pick up artistry" where you pretend to have status and fool dumb thots into giving up the goods. All girls are naturally stupid thots with no better guidance or discipline placed upon them by a male authority in their life. Now if you even attempt old school courtship you'll be ghosted faster than you can say "the new ghost busters movie was trash thanks to feminism".

Robert Redford $1 million bid in indecent proposal was every woman's fantasy.

Trump cheaped out at $130k and didn't even settle his tab.

bliznik If you're getting sexually harassed and/or assaulted by 'every male boss' you've had, you need to search for a higher class of Pimp.
