Behold, The Mystical Tree Fountain Of Montenegro

Submitted by: normalfreak2 8 months ago in Science Weird

I couldn't find an article on it, but according to my sleuthing, this is due to when the rains flood the underground springs, water gushes up the roots and out this tree. A pretty cool natural phenomenon.

Can't really happen unless there's enough pressure in the underground water to raise it up above ground level.  Perhaps the roots have broken into a storm drain that builds up enough pressure.  This ain't the normal capillary action.

I know you can tap birch trees in some situations for clean water, don't recall seeing this sort of thing.

I've seen this occur when a tree's roots grow into a waterline.  No reason it couldn't to the same with an underground stream.
