How do you think this is going to turn out?

I agree that some gender barriers NEED to be broken down, such as "only males make good mechanics", or "only females make good nurses". If you are good at, and like, a particular job, then do it, no matter what "gender norms" have to say about it. Everyt  time I see a woman performing a traditionally male-dominated job, I always think, "good for her!" However, trying to teach a child that they have no gender is just plain ignorant. Why not try to teach them that they don't actually have hands, or that the sky is red, or some other stupid, easily disprovable nonsense?

It has been tried many times: it always ends in horrific failure. The child is permanently harmed for life, I've never seen a single study where the 'no gender' or 'assigned gender' didn't end like that.
:-(
Plenty of 'anecdotal accounts' of course, but people also claim children were raised by wolves so... (ps: not even remotely possible, without the child being a non-verbal animal later in life, literally)

People worry too much, just let your kids be who they are. If a boy wants to play with a doll and wear pink or a girl a toolkit and blue what does it matter? I think it's people with a lack of confidence in themselves that force gender stereotypes onto their children.

Invariably, when these "people" say they are raising their kid gender neutral, it really means they are turning boys into girls and girls into boys. They aren't neutral at all.

Good idea, lets be honest the only people who need to know what bits a child has are it's doctors- it is totaly irrelevant to anyone else unless your interest is inappropriate....

madduck Just because you'll be dead by the time this shit really hits the fan doesn't mean you should support the dismantling of civilization that you've enjoyed up until now.

Maybe I should raise my kids race-neutral. They can show up to school in blackface from time to time and lecture all the race-mono kids who seek to impose artificial race-norms on people.

People like this need to be removed from the virus pool we call humans.

Male/Female - Boy/Girl are perfectly acceptable in the scientific and doctoral community to identify two genetic variations.

It doesnt matter if you have a wopping great wang between your legs (like me) or if you have a malformed dong (also known as 'the elusive button' or 'man in the boat'). What matters is how we consider the contribution to our society...

I am not a psycologist or behavioural expert, and I guess we'd need several of them and other experts to prove or deny the social benefits or failures of having children grow up in single sex 'hen'riarchial families.

But one thing I do know is that the gay family is not contributing to extending societies population (virus). That might be a good or bad thing - I dont know. But that is just biology; and religious or not you cannot deny how a male and female fucking is the only way to procreate (for now).

This kid should not be denied her right to be A FUCKING KID. These parents SHOULD be denied their right to be parents - they are either 1) on the band wagon looking for easy cash, or 2) STUPID CUNTS.

Around 23:00 a child says that “it’s hard to tell if Mika is a boy or a girl. I think it’s a girl...but it doesn’t really matter what she is...I mean what hen is.” That’s a lot of confusion going on there.

I don’t think terms like boy and girl are innately divisive, oppressive, or stereotypical. They can, however, help us make sense of the world around us and communicate clearly. I’m really trying to understand the anti-gender movement, but this video doesn’t help.

johndplorable I really don't think terms like boy and girl are harmful at all either.  They can describe either your sex or your gender.  Why some people seem to think they can only refer to gender is beyond me.  Doesn't matter what your gender is, I agree, but if you have a penis, you're still a boy sexually and if you have a vagina you're still a girl sexually.  That's your sex and nothing besides an operation will change your sex.  What your gender or sexual preference is has absolutely nothing to do with what reproductive organs you body has.

waldo863 Cutting of your wang or adding one does not change your sex, its encoded in to your DNA and until we can change that no matter what you do you can't change your sex, if you stop taking the drugs to help you "be a boy or girl after sex change" you will go right back to where you were only you wont have a wang or the other thing.

I don't think children should be used to make political statements like this.

You could wait until they are older and explain things easier to them than this kinda stuff.

We already know what's happened in previous cases like this (sweden loves creating intersectional bullshit) and usually these kids ebd up having a lot of disorders later

Oh ya and I find it odd that the word for the children "Hen" is the female term  for chicken.
Wouldn't some gender neutral word be better, like them or its or anything not directly linked to a single sex?

casaledana Yeah, in English Hen means a female chicken, but they are not in a country where English is the primary language now are they?  "Hen" is more like "it" in English.  You know, we have "He", "She", and "It."  They have "Han", Hon" and "Hen".

skypirate No.  He and she in Swedish are han and hon, so hen is similar to both.  The Swedish word for a chicken is kyckling, and hen (female chicken) is höna.

This is not a normal household with a strong father and mother, in fact we don't even know how feminine there mother is The "mopa" is obviously very feminine. And I don't care what you say everyone needs a certain amount of training (for a lack of better word) to help them be the man or woman they will be. Despite what everyone wants to say that we are not the same.

Gender hormones will take care of this at puberty. parents cant stop those from coming.

emmettyville I'm not sure if it will "take care of it" or simply aggrevate the confusion.  Maybe lightening up on role requirements will be an improvement.  The big issue is bullying and that has to be addressed

emmettyville  Yes but I can't help but think that they will still have a lot of confusion on there path in life. It's hard enough even when your shore of your sex.

casaledana I dunno you guys. I got boy and girl demon spawn, and even if I had of made a point of deliberately raising them gender neutral,( I mean I didn't go overboard, I just made all experiences available to the boys and the girls and let them decide what they liked to do- what a surprise, girls like playing house, and boys like making weapons out of anything they can find and playing war games) they still would have exhibited specific gender behaviours.
Bullies don't need this as an excuse to bully, they will pick on anyone for anything.

emmettyville Well, even though my daughter prefers to play with weapons with her cousins, and she loves nerf guns and the like and will run around playing war, I still call her a girl, because that is her sex.

While she does not really like playing with dolls and she rarely if ever touched the kitchen set my Dad got her for her birthday one year, I still call her a girl, because she has a vagina.

Even though she prefers to wear jeans and a t-shirt and refuses to wear dresses, that doesn't change her sex.  She's still medically a female, so that's what we call her.

I'm curious what they do in hospitals there.  When you bring your child to the doctors office, what do they do?  Just call you kid a gender neutral term?  What is on the birth certificate under Sex?

waldo863 Hospitals? ewwww. I try and avoid these places at all costs. 50% of my children were born at home and the other 50% spent less than 24 hours in hospital. Alopathic doctors are quacks.
But in saying that, New Zealand has pretty tame and old fashioned ideas about such things, we'd call it what genitals it came with.

Just what we need to give children more reasons to be bullied.
I'm sure they're sjw parents will be so disappointed that their children grow up hating them and wanting to be normal

dm2754 Bullies will find a way to bully: glasses, being smarter ...

If you raise your kid to be a sheeple, it will be bullied for being a sheeple. The only "cure" is raising your kid to be a bully - and even then they will just pick one to be bullied.

7eggert Bullies and sheeple... Rulers and slaves... Is that the lens through which you look at the world order?

I look at the world through the lens of competition and evolution. Ideas, approaches, ideologies, genes constantly compete for survival. In an ever-changing, complex world diversity is good.

You can't predict what approach is 'best' in a given situation, but you can try a bunch of different approaches and find out which is best. Today it may be one approach, and in a few years it may change. In one country it may be one - in a different country it's another.

I'm describing my ideology/approach, which may itself prove to be bad. My approach to improve it is to challenge my views and test them against others. I've tried to do that in another post - to try to understand your and monkwarrior's world view, but sadly you refused to help burst my bubble and to reveal your own approach, which would open it for challenge.

boredhuman I tell things in a way that I hope will make people think. Sometimes it's first necessary to destroy certainties.

Here I argued against the certainty that you just don't need to be the current target of the bully (aka. not yourself). So if you can't undo sb being a bully by changing the victim, what's to do?

dm2754 I guess I say that because I don't hear about it as much, back in school I always heard about people being bullied this and that (most of the time from other schools), but now a days I might hear one thing a year, maybe it's just because I'm not around schools anymore
