Polyamorous Pregnancies: When You Have Two Wives And One Of 'Em Got Knocked Up

Submitted by: littlemissqt 3 months ago in Lifestyle

From Thom Johnson: A polyamorous family of two women and one man are expecting their fifth baby. Seven members and counting, the Sullivan-Kings are larger than your average family. And with two mums and one dad, they are also not the most conventional. So far, Buddy, 33, Rose, 33 and Lauren, 34, who share a California king size bed in their San Diego home, have four children between them – all boys – with another on the way. Spoiler alert: it’s another boy.

Threesomes for life.

I see no problem here. If you can provide kids and partners you have with a stable, loving, nurturing environment with financial security, the relationship passed all ethical tests. Legislation should be made flexible enough to embrace that.

The way the world is becoming, with no work/life balance and bills left and right, i see these poly relationships as practical. It sounds good to me in paper, at least. I wonder how the rules of the game would be, though. Maybe, start with a male and female, then add one, then another one of the other gender. I figure four is a good practical number, more may be too chaotic.
Huge paradigm chance, too. It blows my mind to think of the daily dynamics. For instance, wouldn't this weed out abusive spouses? Hard to victimize three spouses for too long. Also, wouldn't this help communicating emotions between spouses? Maybe I'm looking at this too optimistically, but I can't think of problems with this that don't happen also in couple-based relationships.

bearbear01   Robert Heinlein predicted plural marriages for the future.  3- 6 people with careers with one at home to rear all those kids.  It makes sense economically, but try and find that many people who get along.

Gerry1of1 yeah, but the same is true in couples. And in the poly case, no feelings of being stuck (maybe, possibly). Plus if one party leaves (or dies, for that matter), it wouldn't put the family in last-chance mode.

Gerry1of1 you are forgetting the real purpose of "marriage" from a woman's point of vie. it is to secure good genetics and/or security for their child.  plus by animal behavioral statics, humans are not a monogamous species.

the fact that two women get along well enough to share is the amazing thing.

slicerdicer    I'm all for it, so long as your sister wife isn't 12 years old.
