This Kid's Name Is Keaton Jones -- This Video Of Him Was Seen By A Lot Of People This Weekend

Submitted by: fancylad 2 months ago in News & Politics

Unfortunately, he'll still be bullied and made fun of for the rest of his life because that's the world we live in. Don't be the asshole the kid is talking about.

monkwarrior I wouldn’t bully you. I’d kick your ass two ways from Saturday because you’re a punk. Don’t think I could do it? Guess again. I grew up on the the streets of the lower east side of NYC. Don’t need no black belt in nothing. Street fighting is the be all end all.

Some stars have reached out to his mother in order to take him out to various events and meet more celebrities etc. But all she wants is money. It seems like a legit bullying situation that turned into a cash grab by his mom. Also, the family has been photographed with the confederate flag on multiple occasions. How is this relevant? Because if he was picked on by students of another race, they might have done so because of his bigotry and not his physical appearance. Once again it seems as though we are missing a lot of info pertaining to the story and knee jerking it instead

So what. Cry me a river kid. No one gets out of childhood without scars. And guess what; when you're an adult there will be bullying in the work place too.

I feel for the kid.  I was born with a cleft lip and deformed nose.  (Though it looks like I had a better surgeon which is a shame since mine was probably fixed 25 years before his.)  I may have gotten off easier just through shear obliviousness.  When I was asked why my nose was squished, or what was wrong with my lip, I had no idea what they were talking about.  :P

Anyway, I still took enough to make me extremely poor at socializing, which is probably the worse damage that bullying does.  More time for the internet... Yay?!

muert Bullying also made it difficult for me to socialize. Doesn't help if I'm a weird person in general.

It's reported this kids mother has raised $50K. It better be used for private education away from bullies.

No confirmation, I have been unable to find his go fund me page or anything like it.  Anyone know for sure?

dm2754  She is an amazing woman- rarely do inspirational speakers do more than make me want to puke... but she is so positive and not sacharine.

I'm not sure the parent made the right decision letting him post this video. He'll get bullied twice as much for crying online. I feel for the kid, but the mother should have spared him this.

I was badly bullied for the 1st year at school- English Public schools breed some truly spectacular bullies as they have you 24/7 . there is only so far schools can go, but usually they could get rid of most of it if they truly cared- they just can't be bothered.

madduck I was bullied naturally, being a gay kid in the 70s when bullying was encouraged. The coach would stand and watch while the other boys 'made a man of you'.  I got spared that beating, others didn't. But there were plenty of other tortures on the playground. Don't get me started on high school.

Gerry1of1 The 70s were tough -- if you survived them, you grew an extra layer of thicker skin. I remember those coaches.

Gerry1of1 - I can say for certain, bullying does not make anything but a wreck of any child. the terrible food, the not enough food, the lack of heating, the physical privations- they did make us all able to go anywhere, eat anything and be polite and observant while there ( the whole point of public schools) but bullying acheived nothing.

Ya know, I have seen this a few days now, and I can't help but think:  This kid needs to learn how to punch people in the jaw.

Either take the abuse or Smack someone in the gob, cause the world will never run out of assholes.

He is getting so much media attention, I hope it hasn't gotten any worse for the kid.

daegog "Either take the abuse or Smack someone in the gob," easier said than done. some people just cant take the abuse, and they end it themselves. and sometimes when they do hit someone in the gob, the person they hit just hits back harder. standing up to bullies doesnt always work, sometimes it just makes it worse.

for what ever reasons, some people cant fight for themselves, which is why there are people who fight for those who cant fight for themselves. there are more assholes in the world, but there are still some people fighting the good fight.

robthelurker sometimes it's even worse than that nobody ever acknowledges the bullying, and when a kid finally defends themselves they're depicted as the problem.
