[Photos] Wind-Driven Wildfires Burn Across Southern California

Submitted by: fancylad 1 week ago in News & Politics

Some of the strongest Santa Ana winds recorded in years have been pushing several sudden and destructive wildfires across the hills and towns north of Los Angeles, burning thousands of acres and hundreds of structures and forcing tens of thousands to flee their homes over the past two days. Hundreds of firefighters are stretched across suburbs and foothills tonight, trying to contain fires that are racing westward, pushed by the fiercely blowing winds. More info at the Los Angeles Times.

We burn every year. Just our lot in life to live in such a great place.
Every place has something hurricanes, others tornadoes, others flood every year, earthquakes or blizzards.

Gerry1of1 We get Typhoons. In some years a neon sign comes down but nobody gets hurt and insurance covers it.
