Quentin Tarantino Might Make A "Star Trek" Movie

Submitted by: rumham 1 week ago in Entertainment News & Politics

It's been rumored for a while, and now it sounds like we're one step closer to seeing it happen. According to Dateline, Quentin Tarantino has been in talks with JJ Abrams about an idea for the next Star Trek movie. The idea for the movie is now past discussion and Abrams has put together a writer's room to write the script. If and when the script finished, Tarantino would probably direct and Abrams would produce it for Paramount.

It couldn't possibly be worse than the new series.

Why not, the series has been destroyed since 2009 with J.J.A (who also destroyed Star Wars too), and saw no relief with the even worse star trek discovery (don't come back btw).  Its true spirit lives on in youtube videos like prelude to anaxar (sp?) & StarTrekContinues.com

Rapid fire phasers and killing tribbles like the cat in Boondock Saints

No thank you. I much prefer my classic Star Trek

kalron27 No thank you. He was okay to look at back then, but straight men are terrible at gay sex. Just lay there like their doing you a favour letting you touch them.  Nope, I'm not doing all the work.

But, like flowers, they are pretty to keep around.

Gerry1of1 Riker is a all purpose kind of guy.  I don't think straight and gay applies to inter-species kind of guy...

Blood packs spurting all over the enterprise?  Hell yes, lets give it a shot.

He has some really good ideas, one being taking the "Yesterday's Enterprise" story concept and use it to bring the "Abrams-verse" to a close, somehow having Kirk work with his Father through some temporal breach that restores the original timeline.  That might work actually.  Tarantino has huge respect for Trek and he has never done a SciFi yet, it could be interesting.

kalron27 Yeah, it could be interesting.  It could also be a train wreck.  Either way can't wait!

waldo863 I'd rather watch a Tarantino train wreck than another Lens Flare filled Star Trek film :)

God helps us NO!
Not Tarantino.
His style is not suited to Trek

Gerry1of1  He has written directed a few things like ER and CSI that were not done in his style but appropriate to the show.  He is only wanting to direct not write so it might be a different animal all together.

Tim Burton
Woody Allen
John Waters
Frank Oz
Quentin Tarantino
&
William Shatner {Sorry Shat but ST V sucked}

rumham Kinda was done with Lore. Spock though as an evil villain? Think about it, with the new timeline created by Nero anything is possible.

trimble Actually, another one of Tarantino's pitches is that Spock goes rogue and steals the Enterprise to restore the timeline, saving Vulcan in the process.  Kirk is charged with stopping him.  Not necessarily the villain but logically it would make sense that going awol to save billions of Vulcan lives, as well as Kirk's father, would work for the character and close the Abrams-verse nicely.

If Tarantino were to have 100 percent control, this could be the best Star Trek movie made. Most of them are yawners.

fancylad I disagree. He made some of my favorite movies, so dont get me wrong I like the guy but hes kinda like smith in that they are best left alone with a clear slate rather than being boxed into a franchise. If he does to it, I hope its great, but if he does you know no matter what, you'll have trek fans screaming its to different and at the same time tatantino fans screaming its not different enough.
