Florida Cop Gives Gunman Lube In The Courtroom As Parting Gift For His Life Sentence In Prison

Submitted by: fancylad 5 months ago in News & Politics

A young Jacksonville man who ambushed and shot a Jacksonville police officer multiple times during a traffic stop in 2016 was sentenced to life behind bars Wednesday. Kevin Rojas was smug in court when the officer called Rojas a coward and said he would have a tough time in prison. The officer then took out a bottle of lube and said: “You are going to need a lot of this.”

Yeah, this kid is gonna be someone's pocket pussy for protection. I've seen guys bigger than him turn into a man's fuck toy in prison. Sucks to be this guy.

Status of cop is irrelevant. Anyone shot by someone has the right to a few jokes/insults/curses etc.

By not holding that cop in contempt, the judge might have given the crook an excellent reason to for an appeal to go thru.

1. He is little and kinda cute. He's going to get passed around like a joint at a grateful dead concert.

2. Why is prison rape ok in this country? We joke about it like it's no big deal. Men are being brutally victimized and a lot of them are in there for non-violent drug offenses. How is that a punchline on the Simpsons?

holygod because of the delusions that your media preaches to its people.

Justice has become injustice.

holygod Prison rape shouldn't be okay but no one wants to spend the money necessary to provide the level of protection to prevent it. And it's not just in this country.

Gerry1of1 How hard would it be to put cameras that show every inch a prisoner might be and then punish rape or assault severely?

holygod Prisons are about making money, because there is no public outrage about prison rape, protecting prisoners from rape is low on the totem pole (no pun intended).

Most of the people i know who have done long stretches say prison rape is overblown (minor pun intended) in the media.

If you stay out of debt, mind your own business, and don't act like an ass, the chances you get raped are quite small.

daegog The prison type and gang affiliation matter too. You gotta join up or get left to the wolves.

holygod On the Simpsons? How does the judge let that fly in the courtroom??? I understand he's a detective not a C/O, but that's like saying the hostess saying you're going to need some antibiotics for this food you're about to eat at this restaurant... shouldn't you be fixing that or at least not be bragging about it?

holygod Its not okay, but yes we joke about it because for the great majority its deterrent enough to NOT do something fucking stupid like shooting a cop and going to jail.  Making something illegal doesn't stop criminals, it never has, and it never will.  IMHO if prisons were run like military bootcamps instead of these 'jail-run-criminal-organizations'  it would put a huge damper on the practice. (Unless you're a child/wife abuser, then you're likely going to 'get yours' regardless)

holygod Our justice system is infallible, and judges factor rape into their sentences.  Per judge XXX "Well, I was going to say 5 years, but then I rememberer he was going to get ass raped twice a week, so I cut it down to 2 years."
