Conservative Talk Show Host Talks With Amazon's Alexa

Submitted by: 5cats 2 weeks ago in Tech

It turns out Alexa says Jesus Christ is a 'fictional character' but Mohammed has a great bio! How did answers like that (the Jesus one, and several others) get past Amazon? It seems Amazon was very quick to fix some of the issues, but that doesn't make this video a fake as the following video seems to prove.

He has the smarmy, self-indulgent, cockiness of Bill Maher without any of the wit, humor, or intelligence. It's even more off-putting.

It seems as though he's reading more in to what is being said than what is really being said.

"How many black lives matter activists have stolen you?" *snicker* *snicker* *snicker*

This shit bag seems awfully happy with himself. I guess if you want a conservative "comedian" the bench isn't that deep. Dennis Miller, Tim Allen, Larry the Cable Guy, Jeff Foxworthy, and then you get to this guy?

As far as ACTUAL, HISTORICAL people go, it is much easier to prove the existence of Mohammed (just as a person who existed, ignoring all the religious stuff) than it is to prove that Jesus existed.

Mostly because Mohammed came along 600 years AFTER Jesus and during an era of better record keeping.

daegog It is true that there's no records of Jesus other than the Gospels and other religious writings, which is sort of unusual since the Romans kept pretty good records...

But like you said: different time, and Mohammed lived a LOT longer, married 10+ wives, had dozens of daughters (no sons that survived childhood) negotiated treaties, invaded nations, destroyed whole cities and killed tens of thousands of people... it leaves a lasting record!

And while Christians underwent multiple persecutions and attempts to wipe them out by their own government(s) in their own land? Islam was the government and did everything in its power to preserve and promote itself in their own lands and beyond.

daegog Plus they didn't ask "who is Jesus Christ?" they asked "who is the lord Jesus Christ?" Their feigned shock is also completely bullshit as of course they had that question / answer set up well before they started filming.

holygod iirc? They ask a couple of variations of the name, but Lord Jesus Christ is a perfectly valid way to refer to Him, yes? It's commonplace, like saying Jesus Christ our Lord and Saviour or something. And Alexa doesn't answer with "Lord" but just says "Jesus Christ is..."

How does, at any point, "Jesus Christ is a fictional character (full stop)" not be offensive to billions of Christians? Anyhow it seems like Amazon was really fast at fixing it (without letting anyone know about it of course). So that's a positive thing...

5cats Isn't it funny how conservatives love to call liberals "snow flakes" or say they are "triggered", but when it comes to their imaginary friends they will straight lose their mind if a talking cylinder doesn't show the proper respect?
