NBC Fires Matt Lauer's Ass After Complaint About 'Inappropriate Sexual Behavior'

Submitted by: daegog 10 months ago in News & Politics

NBC fired longtime Today show host Matt Lauer last night over alleged inappropriate sexual behavior in the workplace, the network confirmed Wednesday morning. NBC News Group Chairman Andrew Lack said in a memo that the company received a “detailed complaint” from a colleague and that, “after serious review,” decided to terminate his employment.

“While it is the first complaint about his behavior in the over 20 years he’s been at NBC News, we were also presented with reason to believe this may not have been an isolated incident,” said Lack. “Our highest priority is to create a workplace environment where everyone feels safe and protected, and to ensure that any actions that run counter to our core values are met with consequences, no matter who the offender.” He added, “We are deeply saddened by this turn of events.”

CNN also reported that The New York Times, among other outlets, has been working on a story about Lauer’s alleged misconduct.

Save time.
Make a short list of men who haven't been accused.

I'm not a Matt Lauer fan, but it would seem there was serious evidence to warrent this (at least I hope so).

That is why there are three (3) main rules I have always lived by:
  1. Never have sex with a co-worker.  (No matter if it's good, or bad, someone's changing jobs.)
  2. Never have sex with a neighbor. (No matter if it's good, or bad, someone's moving.)
  3. Never stick your dick in crazy. (Learned that one the hard way.)

fancylad I can honestly say I actually broke Rule 1 once.  But, I was in college, delivery pizza and quite frankly she would have been worth losing a pizza delivery job over.

If I was a woman, I would just accuse the men above me to create positions I want.
Not saying that's ever happened, just saying it's a strategy politicians use so why not?

Gerry1of1 Somehow, I do not think that is a sound strategy for career advancement.

First complaint in 20 years? This piece of shit has been up to his tits in strange for years -- how come I know about all of his BS and his boss doesn't?

fancylad Nothing wrong with being up to your tits in strange as long as it's with willing parties.

fancylad My pal? I barely know who he is, not defending him at all, just saying it's not OK unless the other party is willing.
