Stand For The Truth: A Government Researcher Speaks Out

Submitted by: monkwarrior 2 months ago in Weird

In August 2016, Peter Michael Ketcham, a former employee of the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST), began looking into the reports his agency had released years earlier on the collapse of the World Trade Center. What he found shook him to the core.

In this poignant half-hour interview, Peter Michael Ketcham tells his story of discovering that the organization where he had worked for 14 years had deliberately suppressed the truth about the most pivotal event of the 21st century.

Through his willingness to look openly at what he failed to see in front of him for 15 years, Mr. Ketcham inspires us to believe that we can all muster the courage to confront the truth — and, in so doing, finally heal the wounds of 9/11.

Jaysingrimm is a strong denier of the facts surrounding 9/11, even going as far as to deny explosions were heard (link).  jaysingrimm has a well worn record of attempting to smear people who speak out about the truths they (jaysingrimm) don't like surrounding the events of 9/11.  Also notable: the post wasn't even 20 minutes old, and they came out with their usual ad-hominem to smear the man's character rather than focus on his argument - the sign of someone with a fragile world view (as jaysingrimm happens to hold), surrounding the events of 9/11, which are exposed when the hard facts come out.

It's interesting that you seem to think the man's own credentials smear him.

Also telling that you seem upset by a simple addition of that information you failed to address in your write up - Surely not a reaction from someone genuinely interested in the truth.

However, thank you for sharing your opinion of me.

Happy Thanksgiving.

I-A-B reader: Yet again we can see how someone who denies the facts surrounding 9/11 resort to personal attacks against those pointing to said facts.  As usual, this is done out of a desire to deny or ignore said facts.  Remember, personal attacks are nothing to fear, especially when they're the reaction to inconvenient truths.

What's the point in chasing the 9/11 theories? I mean, Trump has now proved that the government just simply doesn't get held to account for anything, so if you're not going to do a thing about his shitty behaviour, what on earth makes you think anything will happen if your 9/11 conspiracy theory is true?

I-A-B Reader: Here's another unique type of response you might find, that i like to call 'the defeatist response'.  It's nature is to change nothing, and let things keep going as they are, by inventing scenarios and situations that would show the end result as failure regardless of anything that could be done, so that a re-investigation should be dismissed, or that a lie should be lived regardless.

Make no mistake, these are all dismissive mindsets when it comes to ignoring the facts.  Humankind has a deep need to live by the truth, and much of the propaganda foisted on the masses to accept a lie leads many to take 'the defeatist' stance, but not everyone, there are truth seekers, and hopefully you're one.  In the grand scheme of things, living a lie makes things difficult for so many people, and this is why dismissive defeatist stances can be easily dismissed in the face of the facts that show it is wrong, regardless of any imagined outcome failures they can conjure up.

monkwarrior So, I ask what you would actually do about it, and you decide on misdirection instead. Instead of actually telling me what you think would change, you decide to talk about something else.

You're a coward.

I-A-B Reader: Due to the growing amount of evidence that point to the 'official report' of 9/11 being wrong, the personal attacks toward those who expose it increase.  You might find many users who have held to the lies about 9/11, or who have bought into the propaganda that is widely preached as truth about 9/11 (but is exposed as a lie by researchers), are presently unable to consider the facts outside of the propaganda line that was fed to them.

Here you'll notice the pejorative terms continuing to be used against the OP, terms that the state-sponsored propaganda teaches them to use in order to dismiss, ignore, discredit those who expose the flaws in the propaganda.  This leads them to focus on personal attacks against those who expose the fragility of that propaganda.

Don't be fooled, it's simply flawed logic that has been injected in the minds of the victims of such propaganda, often by repetition, gossip and rumor, but whose ultimate purpose is to protect the propaganda, and deny the facts.  And while they may feel strength in numbers by using this flawed reasoning, ultimately the facts will tell the truth that no propaganda can silence.

You're really clutching at straws now, Monky. A couple of other interesting quotes from this guy which you conveniently fail to mention:

From this video:
"NIST was given the task of investigating the World Trade Center collapses... I was not involved in those investigations or writing those reports but I was certainly aware that that research study was going on. NIST's role as I understand it was to investigate the collapse of the 3 World Trade Center towers..."

From a letter he wrote to Europhysics News:
"I did not contribute to the NIST WTC investigation or reports. But in August of this year, I began to read some of those reports. As I then watched several documentaries challenging the findings of the NIST investigation, I quickly became furious."

In other words, he's got no more insight into this than any other conspiracy theorist. Even though he used to work for a company that carried out the investigation, he had no involvement in it, no knowledge about it and no professional or academic qualifications in anything that related to it. But the TV show saw 'NIST' and thought it could grab the interest of people too brainwashed to look behind the facade of relevance. Welcome to their demographic.

I'm off to find out what Carl thinks about 9/11. Not only did Carl work in the NIST canteen between 2009 and 2011, but he also saw the 9/11 attacks on the TV, so I'm expecting he's going to be able to blow the lid off the whole thing.

DrCribbens Over a month ago I posted a post about 9/11 conspiracy with a huge number of links: many links outright debunked the conspiracy. Then I weaved in a story so outrageous, I was sure people would see it as a parody... but I fell victim to Poe's law.

I linked a few actual 9/11 conspiracy video to show the bad evidence the conspiracy theorists depend on. This exact video was one of my links! My time stamp was at 4:57 almost the same as here.

My post was actually inspired by monkwarrior and reading his comments here I think it comes pretty close - what do you think? I hope you'll give my post a try and can see past the "sheeple" bit :P

I-A-B reader: As you may be beginning to see, there is a similar pattern among the deniers of facts about 9/11.  For example, trying to paint the man interviewed as incompetent in their ability to understand NIST reports, a man who worked for NIST, and in fact expressed shock over realization over how it wasn't a sincere and genuine study.

This is done by some people to deflect from the growing body of evidence that points to the need for a re-investigation, but that continues to fear or ignore that a re-investigation is needed into 9/11.  Instead of trying to find the truth, it finds ways to continue fearing the facts, desiring to paint all those associated to those facts (which they fear to be true) as being paranoid, incompetents, idiots, retards, and all other manner of classifications as if an authority on the subject, to tilt others away from their target, agreeing with themselves, or at any way to look away from those facts they fear. The fact that 9/11 needs a re-investigation.

Don't be fooled, be wise.

monkwarrior Perhaps the similar pattern is caused by everyone but you seeing the same enormous flaws in your argument.

Explain to me how this man working for NIST is relevant, given that:

1. His job for NIST was developing apps for the iPhone. Nothing to do with being 'a government researcher' as both the title of the video and your post try to mislead us.
2. He admits having had absolutely nothing to do with the 9/11 investigation.
3. He admits having had absolutely nothing to do with the writing of the report about the 9/11 investigation.
4. He admits that he got his facts from watching some documentaries (note that as we don't know which documentaries, we have no idea of the quality of them, but from what he said we know they were biased in favour of the conspiracy theory).
5. Unlike the people in NIST who carried out the investigation, he has no background or qualifications in structural engineering.

Why should we take his views any more seriously than we take, say, yours?

I-A-B reader: Often times people will want to force their deflection, to move the topic away from the growing body of evidence that points to the need for a re-investigation, and on to petty issues they feel will deflect the primary one.  As you can notice here, an attacker who fear or ignores that a re-investigation is needed into 9/11, will continue to focus on their initial angle of attack, despite having their flawed reasoning exposed, to try continue forcing their deflection.

Understand their repetition of flawed logic is nothing to be afraid of, and they know it.  At junctures like this, you can be confident in knowing this, even saying it so that all parties involved can understand the situation, the irrelevancy of the deflection, and its ineffectiveness.

I-A-B reader: While Akira may be a good movie with a decent soundtrack, maybe worthy of its own post here on I-A-B, keep eye for such dismissive replies as shown here.  The reasoning for them is to deflect and silently deny, to continue and attempt to ignore the facts feared to be true regarding the topic, be it wilful or guided by the propaganda fed to them through the gossip and rumor outlets of its 'normalcy'.  But the facts are clear that a re-investigation is warranted, and the possibility of a great lie having laid a foundation on the 21'st century is real.

daegog watch the newer dub from 2002, not the subtitle or early dub from 1991.  It makes much more sense because they re-translated the script correctly.  (and hired new voice actors).

Or just read the English translation comic.  Its pretty epic (Epic Comics version is my personal suggestion).

Katsuhiro Otomo is the reason why Anime is global today.  Second to Hayao Miyazaki and Nausicaä of the Valley of the Wind.  His attention to detail per comic panel is untouchable.

Wake up, you people of that deceptive nation: this man is a real hero, something you've been long led away from being, and as a result have long forgotten.  He has some good quotes from this video:

WTC7:
  • "I felt compelled to start investigating and in a very short amount of time, it became clear to me, that NIST's investigation of the collapse of the World Trade Centers was not a sincere and genuine study, and i quickly became furious."
  • "And that fury then quickly transferred to NIST, my former employer, who i had always thought very highly of, and always felt that NIST did research of the highest integrity.  So to see what they had done, what NIST had done with the world trade center investigation and report, left me stunned."
  • "What became immediately obvious to me that there was evidence that all three of those towers, 1, 2 and 7, collapsed due to controlled demolition"
  • "What i saw was the most likely cause, controlled demolition, was not investigated at all, in fact, dismissed with one or two sentences within the report"
  • "and to complicate matters even more there was an obvious foreknowledge on the part of some people, that seemed to know this building was going to come down"
  • "The point is that building was heavily built.  There would be no reason to expect it to come down"
  • "NIST put forward a model for the collapse of building 7, that appears to me, they were grabbing at straws."
  • "The explanation that is given by NIST for the collapse of building 7, sounds like a Rube Goldeberg Device"
  • "Steel framed buildings don't do that, that doesn't happen, it's just fantasy-land"
  • "Does the NIST model for building 7 match what we actually saw? no."

WTC1/2
  • "One would reasonably expect the top of the building to start to lean, start to creak, connections start to break, and the top of the building would simply fall off to the side, and come crashing down on the buildings next door, and the rest of the tower would remain.  That is what one would expect, but instead we saw something quite different."
  • "it's not reasonable to think that the weakening of some of the columns near the impact zone could somehow lead to an entire building collapsing entirely down on itself symmetrically into its own footprint with nothing left but bits of dust.  That's not plausible."
  • "Collapsing symmetry represents order.  A very strict order."
  • "Look at the rubble that's left. It is not big pieces of steel, big chunks of cement, it's fine particles."
  • "Steel does not fly off the side, 100's of feet, due to gravity.  Gravity works vertically, not laterally.  There has to be force there, pushing it to the side. Otherwise it would be like dropping a ball out of a window, it falls straight down."
  • "Why did NIST release a report that seems to do everything it can to avoid investigating the most likely cause?  In this case being controlled demolition.  Why would NIST avoid that?"

I-A-B reader: Some users have a need to resort to forms of fallacious intellect to ignore the facts about 9/11.  For example, upon hearing an unpleasant truth, the attacker focuses on their target being a specific way, even though the target isn't that way, then continues with the incorrect observation to turn the topic to an unrelated topic.  The attacker is attempting to misdirect the topic away from the fact a re-investigation into the events of 9/11 is needed, making it trivial.  Then ignores that need, and moves on to ridicule the target.  This is a sign the attacker really has nothing much else left, and if you can bear it, you're in awesome shape!

You will find many people who are afraid of the facts surrounding 9/11 doing all they can to try shoot the messenger, and silence the facts that expose their fragile world views.  Yet each and every one of them who do this know that they have nothing to stand on in this topic, as the OP has exposed every single one of their flaws.  So they are left to resort to smearing, name-calling, and fallacies, which will be exposed as brought forth.

This is done so that you, the I-A-B viewer may have a chance to see the truth about what happened on 9/11 and also gain strength or insight on how to stand on the truth, unashamedly, and to bravely and gracefully nullify those who will try foist their lies on the world. Be it because they have a direct hand in it, or because they have been deluded by propaganda to do so.

rumham It's not even clever trolling.  It's imitation/poser trolling where tactics are copied from other users and passed off as their own.  Dunning-Kruger effect is a mean bitch.

Example 1. http://www.i-am-bored.com/2016/12/for-a-cool-1-million-donation-you-can-meet-the-president  Datastrom using fallacies against 5Cats.  (Now this thread, notice a pattern?)

Example 2.  http://www.i-am-bored.com/2016/12/arctic-temperatures-soar-to-30-c-above-normal  It's noted that votes are the aggregate of the entire thread, not just the direct voting button.  (A user will then upvote all of the comments on various 9/11 and moonlanding posts to manipulate the total.)

It's weak and imitated.  They're like the Carrot Top of IAB.  Why give credit where none is due.
