Nobody is happier about the wall to wall Vegas shooter coverage than this guy.

Rep. Tim Murphy, 64, a Pennsylvania congressman has confirmed that he had an extramarital affair with a married 32-year-old woman – an announcement that came after it was revealed that the Republican politician is expected to be deposed in the couple’s divorce.

Murphy, 64, came clean in a Wednesday statement issued through his attorney, admitting that he was romantically involved with forensic psychologist Shannon Edwards, 32, the wife of Dr. Jesse Sally, a sports medicine physician, the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reports.

“Last year I became involved in an affair with a personal friend. This is nobody’s fault but my own, and I offer no excuses,” he reportedly said in the statement. “To the extent that there should be any blame in this matter, it falls solely upon me. I ask the media to respect the privacy of my family. They have done nothing wrong and deserve to be left alone.”

Murphy is married to wife Nanette and has an adult daughter, Bevin.

this is from my neck of the woods. totally not shocked. recent news is he will not seek re-election, but he will be replaced by another just like him. this part of Pennsylvania would vote for a box of cheerios as long as it was holding a gun and a bible those two things are all that matter to them about their leaders not actual you know improving things for normal people.

rumham The name Rick Santorum comes to mind...and honestly a box of Cheerios is a much more intelligent physical object to be in charge of PA politics.  What a douche.

I'm happy to report that my county went blue in PA this last election so you can't blame me or my town!

kalron27 PA has a serious issue with archaic voting laws and rules.  Can only vote on 1 day during a certain window, absentee balloting is heavily frowned on and difficult to obtain.  It's a chore for citizens of PA to have their voices heard.

rumham  Mine too. He also wants major cuts in transportation for the disabled and the elderly which is often their sole means of getting to doctor appointments and food and supplies

thezigrat Thank the Space Pope for Governor Wolf.  Unfortunately he isn't getting a lot done due to the rest of PA politicians, but it was good to see Corbett get his ass thrown out for all of the major cuts he approved.

Fucked up yeh, still not as bad as Jacob Rees-Mogg ( conservative politician in the UK)

He is pro-life/anti abortion yet he owns  £5 million in shares of a company that produces abortion pills.

Fun fact, he called his 6th child "Sixtus" and has admitted he has never changed a nappy.

layla_wilson We are in sync to go through insanity together.  You had Thatcher while we suffered Reagan... Now we've got Trump and you'll get ..... Karl Pilkington?

layla_wilson Golly ! He does look like Karl. But is he stupid enough to replace Karl? And besides, even with his very odd look on life, Karl has a kind heart.

Gerry1of1 stupid enough? Yes. Could he replase Karl? No. Honestly Karl pilkington would make a better prime minister than any conservative politician.
