Do yourself a favor and watch the whole video... Masterful work by everyone on stage at the 2004 Hall of Fame Inductions.

Prince ruined this for me. The guitar he threw was loaned to him and damaged when he threw it. He could have owned this performance with grace and dignity. Instead he walked off like an arrogant twat.

Prince was great, but he bought into his own hype far too much.

profworm The guitar was caught by his attendant, how did it get ruined?

daegog Okay, so I had read previously that the guitar wasn't caught and damaged. This happened, but not at this performance. The internet is awful about mixing events up like this, and I fell for it.

But he still walked off like a douche, while everyone else stayed on for the crowd. I still really believe his arrogance tainted his legacy.

profworm Have you read the first hand accounts of what happened? The guys on the stage seemed to have at least as high an opinion of Prince as Prince did.  It was an awesome piece of guitaring.

daegog I saw Stevie Ray Vaughn live... So no. :)

Awesome show. He and Bonnie Raitt shared the stage for at least half of it.

RiP Stevie.
