Photos Of Marilyn Monroe Skinny-Dipping Go On The Auction Block [Safe For Work]

Submitted by: fancylad 2 weeks ago in Entertainment News & Politics

A collection of photos featuring Marilyn Monroe swimming nude will on the auction block at Heritage Auctions on Oct. 11, 2017. The striking images, by famed photographer Lawrence Schiller, were taken the same year she died in Aug. 1962. The series -- featuring a total of 12 photos -- is expected to fetch between $25,000 to $35,000. A small price to pay for history.

I remember seeing some of these in Playboy years ago and they I believe taken just after her appendices  was removed and she was self conches of the scar. And also as a part of a film she was making at the time which I believe was never finished bcause of her not showing up and ultimately death.

How come everyone always says "Marylin Monroe was a size 12!" She was a 36-24-34, which at 5’5” and 118, which is well below a 12. Dress sizes must have been drastically different back then because she looks positively tiny in these photos.

fancylad up until fairly recently there was 12inches between hips and waist, ten between waist and bust. Modern sizes are bigger in the waist- and US sizing used to be one below UK, now it is two. Thats more than enough to confuse anyone...

fancylad Because sizes changed drastically over time, as you wrote.
What Dress Size was Marilyn?
TLDR - her bust is about an 8 (size - I rate her bust a solid 10), hips a 6, waist around a 4.

So - they say it to try and make plus size women feel better, skinny women feel inferior ("real" women have curves, after all), and obese women feel like they are plus.
