Pastor Kevin Swanson Says Gay People Caused Hurricane Harvey

Submitted by: normalfreak2 3 months ago in Funny News & Politics

Good old Ann Coulter chimed in with a great logical fallacy as well.

An excerpt from The Independant: Minister Kevin Swanson, who holds notoriously homophobic views, said Houston had sinned by having a "very, very aggressively pro-homosexual mayor."

“Jesus sends the message home, unless Americans repent, unless Houston repents, unless New Orleans repents, they will all likewise perish,” he told his radio show. “That is the message that the Lord Jesus Christ is sending home right now to America.”

His comments come just days after Christian radio personality Rick Wiles linked Houston's progressive attitudes with the storm.

Ann Coulter, right wing media pundit and climate change sceptic, also weighed in to the debate.

Main problem is that people do not know the difference between weather and climate.

MAnn Coulter needs to just come out of the closet and get laid already.  Such an insufferable cock sucker.

Anyone who blames natural disasters on a magical beings hatred for something they don't understand needs to get hit in the face with a flying fish.

kalron27 You need to learn how to read the English language. Or how to take a joke... or both possibly.

She isn't defending this stupid idea, she's just saying AGW is even more stupid than this is.
What part of "I don't believe..." do you not understand?

First part of my comment was directed toward MAnn Coulter, because she deserves it for just breathing.

The second part was directed toward the pastor, because he is a fucking idiot.

You, however, are the Cunt to MAnn's Cock

There...I feed a starving Troll today, I get an extra beer for my good deed.

kalron27 You do need to learn how to read though, you cannot even understand something as simple and easy to see as this comment of Ann's.
And I've been being polite to you across the posts for a few days now, this is what I get in return. Own it: it belongs to you.

And so are a lot of other progressives and Democrats (although most are joking too :-) at least half-joking eh?).

Yes, it is more credible than climate change, get a clue IAB Liberals, ffs...

Ann is NOT saying gays caused it, she is saying AGW is LESS logical than gays are as a cause. That in no way endorses the idea of a gay caused storm. Grow up already.

No.

I don't believe climate change caused this storm.  Is there a shred of possibility that AGW has created conditions to change the planets climate that may have increased the chance of this storm occurring or affecting its severity?  Yes, of course.  It is small, but it is definitely not zero.  No one with two damn neurons and a grade 3 level understanding of cause and effect would consider that humans have not negatively affected this planet's climate.

But there is absolutely 0% fucking chance that a being that created the incredible majesty of the universe would give two shits about about folks choices for personal happiness on a small planet circling an insignificant star on a minor branch of an average galaxy among the billions and billions of galaxies.

punko So you can prove there is no God at all? Nifty! Do tell us oh wise one!

The alarmists are not saying 'influenced by' they are saying "caused" ok? And even influenced? There's as much "evidence" human actions have reduced storms and stuff as there is that they increased them: if there's the slightest chance human CO2 reduced severity: "No one with two damn neurons and a grade 3 level understanding of cause and effect would consider that humans have not positively affected this planet's climate."

Logic, says you.

Look: these storms are created by the cold south pole air hitting the hot equator air (simplified) right? Of course. The large difference in temps makes stronger storms.
AGW says: we humans are warming the poles faster than the rest of the planet. So the difference is now lower, making weaker storms...

Gerry1of1 Nice !  Always glad to be in print.  Of course, I'd like to see more interesting articles of science and human interest.  I'd like to see more Photos from Fancy's Hard drive and pictures of the day.  I'd like to see links to new and fun time wasting web based games.

Puzzles.

What I really, really, want is less political bullshit.  Sadly, a lot of video posts seem to be "look what this body said".  I don't care.

I don't come to I-am-bored to deal with politics.  I want to be unbored.  I want shit to pique my interest.  Photo series, flashback music, short fail army clips, flash games, joke contests.  Science, natural wonders, engineering accomplishments, funny cartoons, TED lectures.

I want to laugh out lout at funny comments and great witticisms and clever writing.  I want to peer at my screen and say quietly "that's cool."

So overall I'd say Gays caused less damage than Straight Tight Assed Narrow Minded Idiots.

cjeffblanchr It's called religion.  It's great for some people, but some people take some pretty twisted views away from religion and think that they are in the right, backed by God himself, so can do no wrong.

waldo863 What I mean is what's to be gained by saying something like this?  Kinda a rhetorical question.  Most Christians, at least that I know, get irritated by crap like this just like everyone else.

cjeffblanchr Some churches think they need an enemy to rally the congregation against. Not sure anyone would want to stay in a church like that. It goes against everything Jesus taught.

markust123 This is true, I agree with that.

We can never be sure what Jesus would say about "topic-X" but I can say with great confidence He wouldn't blame gays for natural disasters... :-)

cjeffblanchr Oh yeah, the ones I know do too.  However, in his mind, he is right and backed by God himself.  He is doing us all a favor by pointing this out to us, in his mind.  He's saving us and helping to prevent something like this from happening again, in his head.  So that's why he says it.  He thinks he's doing the right thing and that it will help keep him on God's good side and get him in to Heaven while the rest of us who disagree with him will be going to Hell.

cjeffblanchr Money.  Tell people things that they want to hear that reinforce their previously established prejudices and they'll be agreeable towards you in the future, to pay you favors, to promote you, to donate to your church, etc.

Methinks the pastor doth protest too much. He's either a repressed gay man, or he's sucked a few dicks in his day. (Nothing wrong with a guy blowing other guys, unless they're telling the rest of the world it's wrong while they're doing it.)
