Bewildered And Taunted Bull Stops And Recognizes The Man Who Cared Him

Submitted by: squrlz4ever 1 week ago in Weird

If you aren't already opposed to bullfighting, the runnings of the bulls, and other sadistic sports that involve torturing a large mammal, this video may give you pause. Here's a bewildered bull who is beginning to panic as townspeople taunt it in preparation of slaughter... when out steps a man who's previously established a bond with the animal.

Be kind- it IS the greatest thing. You want to eat meat- be kind about it. You don't HAVE to eat it every day- you don't have to eat it at all, but if you do, if you eat cheese, drink milk - spend on that which is kind. Things do not have to suffer for our pleasure- never tease taunt or abuse another living thing. my daughter was in Sicily, felt so sorry about the lobsters tied up in a tank she bought one and set it free- and she ( and her boyfriend who I assure you does not do sentiment) say the behaviour changed radically once it's claws were free and it was put on a rock with water-- so whether it survived, or dies, it certainly appeared unstressed when they left it.

melcervini I know exactly what it is, but getting butthurt over cruelty to animals of all things seems, silly as fuck.

The litany of evil shit in this world against other humans is incredibly profound, and given America's own constant and unremitting animal slaughtering (not all of which is humane), the notion that OTHER countries animal cruelty some how matters is, whatever.

The US has states that run rodeos, those are pretty goddamn cruel from several accounts, should we cut those states off from federal funding too?

daegog if this video had other atrocities, I'd have commented exactly the same, but since this one was about the bulls, that's what my comment was directed towards.  Rodeos are useless, obsolete, and yes beyond cruel and need to stop.

A a vegan, I am right with ya on the cruel methods of raising and slaughtering food animals in the States. Not to mention the polluting run off from factory raised animals.
Having said that, pitting a food source against a bloodsport is a poor comparison. You must know that.
The argument that other bad stuff goes on, so why care about this one thing, is - at best - nonsensical, don'tcha think?

captkangaroo The animals are still eaten after the event, im told its become quite popular as a food source.  If i went to spain, i would totally try some of the ragout de toro de lidia.

Im not a vegan, i wouldn't give up meat, the idea seems just as silly as being so angry about Spain's bullfighting obsession.

The notion that all bad stuff is equal is not the case here.  Spain's bullfighting is what they do.  The US invades countries over nebulous terrorist threats.

These are not remotely equivalent.

That they are not equivalent was kinda my point.
I would not expect or demand anyone give up meat - I thought that was implicit in my comment - but I guess not. My point regarding meat consumption is that from birth til death, the overwhelming majority of food animals lead crappy lives and suffer til they are cruelly killed. As well, chicken and pig shit run off into rivers, streams and creeks create problems.
Perhaps I should reiterate, I do not expect or demand people give up meat. Are ya getting that point?
It might be nice though, if animals were treated better - I won't say humanely, I see how humans treat each other - and if nature were respected more.
I am not angry about bull fighting, I am appalled.
Cool that you throw in the obligatory, if non sequitur comment regarding U.S. aggression - very trendy.

No one cares that you don't care - so ... If you don't care what I think, why do you persist in this thread?

trimble Your US tax dollars go to foreign countries (US foreign aid is actually a smaller percentage than other western nations, btw) because your government uses it as leverage to get favourable trade deals. You'd actually be worse-off without the foreign aid. Besides, a heap of it comes straight back as payments to American companies.

trimble You're saying that your government should not spend your tax dollars on improving your standard of living?

trimble Don't forget all the money our governments (USA & Canada) spend on foreigners moving to our countries while virtually ignoring our veterans / homeless / etc...

oobaka Perhaps if you didn't send so many soldiers overseas, you wouldn't have so many veterans to mistreat?
