My most recent feel old moment was buying a cartridge for an old Okidata Microline 590 here at the office.  We still use two of them here at my office, one for pick tickets in the warehouse and the other for Invoices here in the Office.  I normally order the cartridges online but someone forgot to tell me when they used the last one and it did not get noticed before one ran out.  So I looked at Office Depot and their website said they had 5 or so of them in store.  So I head over to the store to get them and ask the young kid where they can be found, even providing the Part#.  Obviously, they are not with all the ink for modern printers, and he can't find it.  So I go looking around the store while he goes to look it up.  He can't find it, I do and walk up to the front with it.  His immediate answer, "Oh, I thought you meant for an actual printer, not a calculator."  Of course my response is, "It is an actual Dot Matrix Printer, not a calculator."  "Well, that can't be true, if it was a real printer, it would have been with all the other printer cartridges."  I just paid and left feeling old for not only knowing what a Dot Matrix Printer is but still using two.

waldo863 Hell, I still use DOS 6.22 on occasion. Old does NOT have to mean obsolete!

Lots of us don't know old technology. I couldn't have told you what a Funicular was until I looked it up.

That's why I like history and period dramas so much, I always learn something.

I think the range of notes is rather limited for this instrument but it would be fun to ride!

That's okay most middle-aged Americans can't accurately describe what a Nickelodeon is.

I have no doubt it's an act. Anyone with an IQ higher than 50 wouldn't think a video would play through those holes.

This doesn't make me feel old because CDs were more prevalent for me when I was their age.

What this makes me feel is pity for the ignorance of these kids.  This would be like me not knowing what a record or a phonograph was when I was their age.
