Was "Pickle" Letter Real? Did A Baker Refuse To Make Him A Trump Cake?

Submitted by: 5cats 4 months ago in News & Politics

When a fan letter to President Trump from a little boy named 'Pickle' was read, the MSM and twittersphere went into overdrive! Was this a real little boy? Could the White House be faking it? A vast right-wing conspiracy?

No stone was left un-turned, no connection to minor that it wasn't thoroughly explored. Hundreds weighed in on every aspect of the letter. Hand writing analysis, Donald Trump Jr's childhood toys, any connection at all. Was it really real they wondered?

The answer is: Yes. It really came from a kid who admired President Trump and wanted a Trump-themed birthday party. Dylan (Dyl-pickle) Harbin is real.

Here's where another story begins: The boy's mother could not find a single bakery to make him a "Trump Cake." Not one, they all refused. Funny how the MSM and twittersphere has absolutely no interest in that story, eh? Oh it's not like they care about who bakes what cake for whom, do they?

That's right! They DO care a LOT! Now legal action against a Christian baker who declined to make a gay wedding cake is heading to the Supreme Court. Not all those Muslim bakers who also refused to do so, just the Christian one(s). Fined or ordered to take 're-education' training and file compliance reports to the court for two years, Christians are singled out while other bakeries get a free pass. Funny how the MSM and SJWs show no interest at all if the politics aren't in agreement with theirs.

I know a couple of gay muslims.  Well -- probably a few; or more. Most of them like bread unless they're glucous intorerient. But I suspect they're either lieing about being gay or lieing about ---  I apollogize my wife has told me I'm not being very funny anymore tonight and I have to go to bed.

Why do people even get worked up over things like this in the first place? These types of problems are self-correcting. Bakery refuses to fill orders, for whatever reasons. Bakery loses business. Bakery closes due to lack of business. Simple.

whosaidwhat The issue here is the MSM's gleeful coverage of the Christians who refused gay cakes, but NO coverage (ever) of the Muslims who did the exact same thing.
Same for the police and courts: Only attack the Christians, NO charges or lawsuits against Muslims. For the exact same 'crime' ok?

Now here's a Mom who says she got refused because of political belief: shouldn't that get the same coverage? Is it not protected? Simple.

The real snowflakes.

Why is it that conservatives had no problem when it was people refusing to make cakes for gay couples because as a business, they have the free choice to provide or refuse service to whoever they like. In a capitalistic society, a business has the right to make this choice, correct conservatives?

Or does it only count when it's some bullshit you agree with?

pleasestop Why did the MSM go with 'wall-to-wall' coverage of the Christians not making gay cakes, but ignored the Muslims who refused? And now ignore this story?

THAT is the topic. Your attacks against non-topic strawmen are... liberal of you! And just plain stupid, as usual.

pleasestop That's right its there right to refuse but when some special people ask and are refused the bakery or what ever lose there right to chose and are forced out of business not by not getting any business but by the government. And when other people do the same thing the Government stands mute and does nothing for the same act. You guess who lose there business and who does not.

pleasestop Why is it that conservatives had no problem when it was people refusing to make cakes for gay...

Please notice the simple fact that the complaint is not that no bakery would make such a cake, but that the fact that no bakery would make a cake has not garnered the press and outrage that a bakery failing to make a gay cake did.  It's calling out the hypocrisy.

I'm sure that some of these bakeries did not want to make a Trump cake for philosophical reasons, as is their right.

But I'm equally sure the majority did not want to make a Trump cake because they know the Proffesional victims would claim a 'triggering' and try their best to put them out of business for deigning to make a cake in the likeness of 'Der Trump!' *rant, rant, slobber, slobber*

megrendel Get back to me when state legislatures pass laws to ensure that bakeries do not have to make cakes with the images of douche bag orange presidents.

daegog Oh? Did you 'step up' and defend the Christian bakeries getting charged and sued? No? Well fuck! What does that make you then...

daegog That's pretty much the law how it is now.

See, the difference is, NO ONE is wanting to sue a bakery out of business for not making a Trump cake.  It's a non-issue.

But we're more than happy to point out the hypocrisy of bakeries being put out of business because they weren't politically correct, but the same media giving a big 'meh' to a bakery not making a Trump cake.

BOTH instances should have received a big 'meh' and everyone go about their lives.

If I go to a bakery and they don't want to make my cake, I go to another bakery.

megrendel Correct. We 'conservatives' have help one position all along: it's either OK for everyone or NOT OK for everyone.

The liberals mantra of 'It's OK if we agree, but not OK if we dislike you' is deplorable: yet here they are defending it and doubling down...

Asking teh MSM and liberals to be intelligent about it and think is a lost cause, I know... ;-)

"The boy's mother could not find a single bakery to make him a "Trump Cake." Not one, they all refused."

Yeah, that doesn't pass even the basic smell test. There is a Trump cake as the picture for this post. Do a google search on Trump cake. There are plenty of Trump cakes and Trump hat cakes that have been made. My guess is she was more interested in being a victim than spending the money on a custom cake.

markust123 Wow, that is obviously NOT the cake in question (his mom made him one) ok?

It is from someplace else, it's just there to illustrate what a 'Trump Cake' might look like IF she had found a bakery to make one.

Just because they exist doesn't mean ALL bakeries everywhere will make them. This mother found no one, they refused, just like the bakeries that refused to make 'gay cakes' OK? Gay cakes exist, I can find pictures if you like? Shit man, try to think for once.

http://www.independent.co.uk/news/people/donald-trump-cake-costing-7000-dollars-delivered-to-election-night-republican-event-a7405896.html

The cake in the picture is from election night. THINK for once... you pissed yourself in Outrage!!1! over Christians (not the Muslims!) refusing to bake gay cakes, but this is A-OK with you eh? And I'm supposed to take you seriously?

markust123 You could say the same thing about the gay cake, but gays are expected to be victims, so send it to court eh? That passes your smell test doesn't it? Liberals are so tolerant, unless it doesn't fit the per-conceived narrative. Get some perspective, smell that.

moldysod The difference being we know who refused the gay cake.  It actually happened.  This seems like a work, a sham.  You are getting all worked up and you do not even know if it happened.  You just want to THINK you are a victim, so you instantly believe the tale.

Let the parents tell us which bakeries (this should be easy because there were SOOO many right?) refused her request, because there is an excellent chance this entire story never happened.

moldysod As a gay man I have perspective on the gay cake issue. Businesses discriminating against a whole group of people is not the same as discriminating against one president. Presidents are not a protected class. It is night and day, if it even happened. Call the Walmart in her home town - they will be happy to make a Trump cake. Her story is pure bullshit.

markust123 No, they discriminated on Political grounds: they refused a mother, not Donald Trump.
Political orientation is grounds for discrimination in your mind? It has NOTHING to do with Trump. YOUR story is bullshit.

markust123 The bakery did not discriminate against gay people. It refused to bake a cake for a gay wedding. They would have baked a cake for a gay birthday.

johncourage One of the bakeries charged would have yes, the other would have refused. Of the two I came across reading up on this post. There were lots of others, like that pizza place. And even more were hoaxes!!!

The one going to the Supremes also refused Halloween, stag party and other "non-Christian" (in his opinion) cakes too, he seems to be very consistent.

First: "A vast right wing conspiracy?" How much of a conspiracy would it take for someone to write a fan letter? Overcalling as always, 5cats.

Second: Of course they wanted to know about the person who wrote that letter! It's adorable! The right wing news should have been looking, too (my guess is they did).
It's just the kind of thing to take the edge off the reports of killings, diseases, and other depressing crap we see and hear every day.

Third: Did you see the letter? Damn it's cute! I do wish the kid had gotten his Donald cake. Always a shame when people step on someone's feelings for shitty reasons. That goes for the right as well as the left, and everyone in between, too.

Fourth: The letter

broizfam Dude? It was teh Twitter LIBERALS and MSM who thought it was fake, conspiracy and all that. THEM not me! Jesus Christ man, did you glance at the link provided?

Of course I saw the letter, and read the article, it's a typical letter from a typical kid, yes. Not the machinations of the White House Propaganda Services, or whatever the MSM call it these days.

5cats Sorry if you misunderstood. I was only saying that (I hope!) no one would think this was part of anything "vast". The only reason to investigate it as a possible fake, of course, is news people trying to sell news. I really hope they were mostly looking into it because it's so cute. Reminds me of the letter the 9 year old sent to NASA. As you say it's a typical letter from a typical kid. Trump should invite him to the Whitehouse for cake. Or maybe visit him with some!

broizfam Oh ok, I was wondering how anyone could come away with that conclusion :p
But think for a second: it's ALL part of a Vast Right-Wing Conspiracy ever since Bill Clinton's mistress, Jennifer Flowers! Hillary uttered those lies then, after careful scripting with her staff, and she and other keep the tradition alive: everything that goes wrong for the Democrats is VRWC!

Lost the election? VRWC with Russians
Kid writes a cute letter? VRWC: it's a fake from the White House, Trump wrote it, his staff wrote it, it wasn't written by a kid (says some) & etc. ALL those amazing, far-fetched ideas are not only trotted out? They are taken quite seriously!!

Until finally someone bothers to (you know) find the family in question...
This from the same MSM who didn't even consult a single Bible Scholar before spreading the 'Bible disproven' FakeNews, eh? Digging into Trump Jr's toybox for 'clues'?? Zomg...

No, they will hate it, downvote it and lob personal attacks and insults rather than discuss it, like they always do.

If not? I still win! Getting them to behave themselves is never easy, lolz!
