Submitted by: normalfreak2 2 months ago in News & Politics

TLDR: Gerrymandering, Rush Limbaugh, Talking heads from right wing talk radio, Tea Party, The loss of the Moderates in Congress, and the Main Stream Media, all told from the eyes and experience of a Lifelong Republican former George H. W. Bush Appointee.

spanz He wasn't telling you how important he was, he was telling you his perspective as a Reagan Republican who served that administration and George  HW Bush's administration.  That's important to establishing his bonafides and credentials.  Although if you found that part the most appalling no wonder you believe the crap you do from people who have no credibility. You don't like credibility, you only like hearing what you already think parroted back to you.

spanz nearly any standard conservative would be considered liberal by today's party metric. My pop was a lifelong republican, he'd blanch at what the party has devolved to in recent years.

Well i didnt watch it yet but i will try after work.

My first thought is the democrats are as much to blame as any thing the republicans did, they fucked over bernie and in his place ran one of the least popular person in the United States.

Hillary was qualified to be president, no doubt.  Thing is, that doesn't and has never mattered.  Why can't the democrats see that lol.  At the end of the day, political races are just popularity contests.

daegog That's exactly how I view it.  All the polls showed that Bernie would have beat the crap out of Trump, and yet the Dems went with Hillary, maybe out of some allegiance they felt.  I don't know, but blame for Trump being elected is partly the fault of this decision.  I didn't watch this video though, so don't know what's in it.  I'm not yet bored enough to watch a 45 minute video.

daegog He doesn't blame the Democrats directly, only for falling asleep while the GOP gerrymandered the districts in their favor in plain sight.

normalfreak2 i personally blame the democrats for playing the same old game.  We have entered the age of idiocracy, either step up or get out the game.

The short answer starts at 26:42 and ends at 27:01. Subordinate factors go on until 27:54. The rest are mostly historical preamble and self-focused illustrative war stories.

Draculya In addition I think 29:30 to 39:20 is also important.  That 10 minute stretch goes into some pretty good analysis.

Draculya Thanks Drac, didn't want to watch the whole thing. He is spot on about the media, but still misses a lot of key reasons Trump won but so do an awful lot of people.
