Curtis McKenzie, 25, was wanted on a Canada-wide warrant for parole violations when he was found swimming in the South Saskatchewan river shouting 'Fuck the police!" Rescue attempts were met with violence so police were enlisted to help.
Curtis admitted to the judge he had no recollection of the swimming or rescue, or of trashing the holding cell afterwards. He was high on meth.
When asked if the police had damaged his nose, he simply said he had cut it off himself while in prison. No further explanation was offered.
Note: Swimming in Canada's prairie rivers is really dumb. They are muddy and silted, shallow and fast flowing. It's dangerous kids! Just don't!
