This Former Royal Marine Sold His Medals To Fund Cancer Treatment For A Kid He's Never Met

Submitted by: normalfreak2 3 months ago in News & Politics

One of the good ones.

Former Royal Marine Matthew Goodman, who served in the 2003 Iraq war, is selling his military service medals to help fund four-year-old Lottie Woods-John's £200,000 ($256,027) cancer treatment, even though the two have never met.

Goodman, 35, read about little Lottie's battle with neuroblastoma and decided to step in and help the family. If you have a few quid or dollars to spare, you can donate to Lottie's fundraising campaign for medical treatment here

Still giving, even after service.

You know who buys medals? People who want to pretend to be ex-soldiers. It's become a real problem.

buttersrules LOLOL that was hilarious.. thank you.

On a side note, all those a-listers (and prolly the b,c,d...Z types too) have herpes..Derek Jeter has spread herpes to soo many people he should be tried for crimes against humanities genitalia .

Cure herpes and you will net more money than you would with an aids cure.

Most service metals are only worth $10. I hope the children aren't that sick

Good on him, i always thought medals were a bit of a sham.

I recall getting into heated arguments back in my unit with the old timers about their relative merit.  I always argued that I would rather be alive without a single medal than dead/cripple with every medal that ever existed.

Glad he was able to actually get some great use out of his, if i thought mine were worth 20 bucks i would sell the lot.  Maybe i should check ebay.
