Trump Jr. Said "I Love It" When The Kremlin Offered Him Clinton Dirt

Submitted by: fancylad 3 months ago in News & Politics

After "New York Times" journalists contacted Don Trump Jr. with their plans to publish a story about the emails, Trump Jr. released email today that shows communication with a high-level Russian official who revealed that the Kremlin had the goods on Hillary Clinton.

"I love it," Donny responded, and scheduled a June 2016 meeting with a Kremlin-linked lawyer who, it was implied, was going to pass on the Clinton-related secrets in the meeting.

In a message to the press via Sarah Huckabee Sanders, Trump said he "applauds" his son's "transparency."

I love how this is earth shattering news......since when has ANY politician turned down a chance to get dirt. Can you seriously think if it were the Hilary camp or whoever would be like " Oh we better not, thats not nice... " This is a nothing burger -Van Jones.

savagenation You're missing the point. The White House, Trump Sr., and Mike Pence all went on record saying no one on Trump's team ever communicated with the Russians, specifically during the election process.

savagenation No one is arguing that point.

The problem you are ignoring is the clear willingness to accept a foreign actor's assistance displayed by Trump Campaign.  That's illegal no matter how you slice it.

Think about this for one moment this is DJT jr's defense here in a nutshell.

If you get a call to go to a certain place in the middle of the night to pick up stolen goods and it turns out the stolen goods don’t show up but the cops show up. You tell the cop Well, I got swindled here.

Wouldn't you agree this is incompetence being used as a defence?

This is what happens when amateurs compete in any profession they make a lot of unforced errors. There is meat on this bone but for better or worse a politician like McConnell would never have gotten caught up in it.

Big frigin deal.  What about podesta meeting with russians.  What about hillary arranging a uranium deal with russia, and then getting a 100 MILLION DOLLAR KICK BACK to her "charity foundation".  There are literally TOO MANY FELONIES to list for Hillary and her merry henchmen, and all the news wants to do is find some meeting where Trump briefly talked to a Russian.  What the F has our country degraded to?  CNN can suck my....

spanz HEre we go again, BUT WHAT ABOUT HILLARY?!  The guy I like did something horrible but that's okay  because it's not the person you don't like.  See the difference with you and normal people is I can look at what Hillary did and say yea that's wrong and we should do something about it.  You see Trump lying  to you and go "yea okay I don't care".  If it were Hillary you'd be going ape shit.

normalfreak2 Because Hillary's Campaign did far worse than ANYTHING DT2 is accused of doing? They knowingly sought and received help from foreign government intelligence agencies, ok?
Once again, you'll defend Hillary for far greater crimes than you condemn a Republican for being baselessly accused of... one rule for thee!

So? How about a post that has something intelligent to say on the subject:
http://lawnewz.com/opinion/why-donald-trump-jr-is-innocent-period/

Is that too much to ask?
He broke no laws, he broke no rules, he didn't lie about anything (that we know of) and hundreds of other workers/politicians did the exact same thing and no one cares!

Oh look! Hillary's campaign accepted helpful information from actual foreign government agencies!
http://legalinsurrection.com/2017/07/scarborough-conveniently-forgets-hillary-getting-oppo-research-help-from-foreign-interests/

And knew exactly what they were dealing with, it wasn't a secret.

Citizen! She was a citizen not a Gov't official or secret agent!
It is PERFECTLY legal and he did not lie about it, ever. He was asked about meeting Gov't officials, he openly admitted (says NF2) to meeting Russians DUH! So did EVERY other campaign. And I bet he met with some Canadians too, ZOMG! Hang him high!

fancylad A son hears that someone is offering dirt on his dad's political rival. He meets the person, it turns out to be a trick to lobby for something unconnected, he says no thanks and he leaves. End of story.

What son wouldn't want to help his own dad in a legal way like this? Because it is perfectly legal to "get dirt", you have to admit that yes?

5cats Some background on Natalia Veselnitskaya:

Natalia is a Russian lawyer at the firm Kamerton Consulting whose clients include many Russian state-owned businesses like Pet Katsyv's son, Denis Katsyv, who own Prevezon Holdings, and investment firm. Denis' father is the "vice president of the state-owned Russian Railways and a former deputy governor of the Moscow region".

She led the lobbying effort against the Mgnitsky Act. The Magnitsky Act was bipartisan legislation passed in 2009 to punish Russian officials involved with the death of Sergei Magnitsky, who was investigating a 230 million dollar tax fraud perpetrated against teh Russian taxpayers by defrauding Hermitage Capital Management, a company created by a US expatriate and now British citizen, Bill Browder.

The money has wound up frozen in jurisdictions across the globe, and some even found its way to Manhattan real estate owned by the company Prevezon Holdings. Natalia herself represented this company in suit brought under the US Attorney Preet Bharara (remember the name?) and ultimately settled in May, 2 months after he was fired, with Prevezon claming no wrongdoing.

5cats ROFL

I'm surprised you haven't drowned from all the Kool-aid you are drinking.

Yea that's totally what happened, I mean this young lass just happened to have tricked The Campaign manager, Jared Kushner, The person that referred this lawyer to them.  And they didn't ask for her ID at the door, she didn't sign in to use the elevators.  Do you realize how stupid your endless defense of EVERYTHING the Trump's do sounds to sane people?
