Real Talk: Let's Dissect Last Night's "Game Of Thrones S7, E1" [There Will Be Spoilers]

Episode photos (No big spoilers)

A great season opener -- from the first scene to the last (both scenes below). This episode, titled "Dragonstone," featured just about every major character and set the stage for a clash of queens and a sweet endgame in Westeros.

There were maps, mass murder, surprise meetings, an unexpected callback, sibling tension, an improved Euron, and more maps.

All that said, one understands that the odd celebrity cameo is nothing new in Game of Thrones, but Ed Sheeran’s stunt casting was a step too far.

I have a rather sick feeling that Lyanna Mormont is gonna get killed :(

Poor girl, she had every intention on being the Queen in the North lol.

I had no idea who Ed Sheeran was. I imagine seeing him would be jarring to most who know who he is but as I had no idea, he was just another random actor playing a one-off character and never took me out of the story.

I really enjoyed the episode. Every time I see her, I love Lyanna Mormont even more. The young actress they got for the part seriously steals every single scene she is in. She just projects an aura of absolutely NO BS will be tolerated.

Well, is just a cameo for him. On next episode we will see his head pierced by a pole or his face blue for the poison or his guts all over the forest. Arya is on the war path and for sure she gonne leave a long blood track on the journey. Anyway i fell in love with Lyanna Mormont, i really want her as a queeen of the throne.

Great episode and a great launching point for the season.  I love how much Sansa has matured in the show.  She's very Catelyn Stark like.  Still wish they would have put Lady Stoneheart in this series.  There wasn't much story in this.  Learned a little bit more of the Lord of Light, The North Remembers, and Winter Came.  Samwell Tully cleans up shit, eats soup and puts books away a lot.

normalfreak2 [Spoilers]

I agree with your opinion of Sansa. I also liked how she was championing Jon to strip the Umbers of their lands and title and Jon championing supporting every fighting man and woman. Jon's decision is "good and pure" and tactical--quite similar to Robb and Eddard--while Sansa's decision is political and smart. The way that Lyanna Mormont looks almost disapprovingly at Jon's actions might be foreshadowing.

I think Aria is going to be this season's version of Lady Stoneheart, tbh.

bliznik hmm i fear that Sansa is fallen under the net of Little Finger, most probably she was tryng to get a castle for Petyr Baelish. I dont like the bad influence he have on her.

It's time to kill off Aria already. When is bran going to do something actually useful?
They're looking to kill the Imp  once again how un-inspired.
