74% conservative and 26% liberal. I figure that's about right even though I disagree with some of the options given.

Keep the paupers fighting among themselves and they'll never even think of glancing "up" to the chains that bind each "side" of the dog fight.

75% conservative / 25% liberal.

But, found it basically worthless.  Many of the answers were extreme one way or the other, with no finesse for the areas in between.

In others, valid options were omitted. Example: Nuclear was not an option of the energy resources we should focus our efforts on.

One number between 0 and 100. This is the only thing you need to be politically defined in the USA...
It's one number higher than China or North Korea, granted...
but still...

I won't even bother.  Thankfully, I live in a country where there are more than two parties.  This entire black/white left/right or red/blue concept of political spectrum is bunk.

All this manages to do is divide into us vs them which is stupid politics.  I'm sorry, but sometimes I believe "blue" things and sometimes I believe "Red"  Sometimes there are green beliefs, sometimes orange beliefs and very rarely, pale blue things.  Sometimes Rhino party things.

There is no political party that currently exists that believe strongly in all the things I believe in strongly.  Which party I might vote for would depend on which issues are important to me at the time and which party has pissed me off with their stupidity and corruption the least in the run up to the election.

Conservative and Liberal are not parties.

punko I completely agree. The left vs right attitude is old and tired and only feeds into our tribalism.

Mine came back 57 lib 43 con, but if I took it again it would be different most of those questions only allow for the typical Republican or Democrat party stance.  I used to say I was libertarian, but that doesn't quite fit either.  On certain left issues i'm hard left, on certain right issues I'm hard right.

I'm a gun owner who believes in the second amendment, personal responsibility, limited government, free markets, individual liberty, social security is a ponzi scam,
I support gay marriage, universal health care,  think we spend way to damn much on our military and support legalization of all drugs (my body my choice)

In short I think we should be able to do whatever the hell we want until you infringe upon someone else's right to do so and only then should something be illegal. No one from either side likes to talk politics with me because I see both sides as equally awful sides of the same bad penny we flip every election.

geobas1 So you really are a Libertarian.  Maybe not the political party but what I understand to be actual definition.  The only difference I have with your list is this:  I don't support gay marriage; I support the government getting the hell out of marriage and letting people decide what it is to them, regardless of the configuration.  Treat it like a corporate partnership if it to be recognized at all.

Thanks for putting this poll up. Nice to know who the liberals/conservatives are on here.
I didn't like this particular poll: many double barreled questions and some poor answer choices. It was also a bit too long, too.

You are 70% conservative and 30% liberal, you are a Moderate Conservative!

70 is moderate? Ok then :p
Question 19: Nuclear! (not given as an option) dammit.

And the talk at the end spoke of 'gay rights and abortion' which was never once covered in the quiz... unless I missed something? Or the questions are randomized (ie not all the same for everyone). That's a might big leap of 'logic' to take those answers and figure out anyone's position on abortion and gay rights :p

5cats Holy shit. I'd say that right there shows this poll is worthless. What are issues you feel you are liberal on?

Gay rights and abortion are meaningless wedge issues that have no real affect on most people other than to rile them up at election time and forget about the fact that they are voting against their own self interests in other areas.

Male 41,184
Draculya The KKK were Democrats, but I guess they count as 'conservatives' too :/

There were some 'extremely right-wing' answers that I didn't select since I don't agree, pick them and the number goes up I imagine.

5cats "The KKK were Democrats, but I guess they count as 'conservatives' too."

You've had this explained to you at least a hundred times. Maybe the 101st time will stick. Almost all of the white South (liberals and conservatives) were part of the Democratic party during the time of Lincoln. There is no way the white south was going to associate with the Republican party of Lincoln. The white south stayed in the Democratic party for almost 100 years until Civil Rights allowed the conservative fraction of the southern Democratic party to move to the Republican party, and the southern black Republican's to move to the southern Democratic Party. You are purposely spreading disinformation.

markust123 Yes, and, all those 'conservatives' were in fact Democrats. You agree.

And the Civil Rights marchers (who were Black) were largely Republicans. Why? Because the Democrats used Jim Crow to stop Blacks from registering to vote, so they went to the Republicans to register.

These are cold hard facts, you can spin all you like but spreading the truth is not "disinformation" like YOUR revisionist history is.

What happened AFTER that is not the issue. The KKK are a joke now, who cares what they do or say? WHAT DIFFERENCE DOES IT MAKE, NOW?

Male 41,184
cobrakiller That would imply / require that the Republicans were the 'liberal' party as recently as the 60's :-)
It means (I think) that 'Dixie Democrats' were a pile of racists who could win elections, so the Democrats put up with them.
It also means there used to be a lot more mixing of liberal/conservative thinking and policy in both parties before the 80's rolled around... more or less.

Since then they have both become further apart in every way... except for their love of 'big government' and spending money :p

5cats I've always been a center left thinker, and as I said I would have penciled in a few answers that would have knocked the "conservative side.  60/40 is where I usually land somewhere  in that range.  IE Nuclear would have been an option for me.

Would Nuclear have knock my score under 70? Or made me more 'conservative'? :-) Maybe they left it out because they have no idea how to grade it?

Next time you throw your temper tantrum-bullying-bigoted-meltdown routine and promise us all you'll never speak to us again, perhaps knowing the definition of the word will help. fancylad see here again, unprovoked.

I hated the answers to some of the questions go.
"Which energy should we focus on?"
None of the ones listed; nuclear, we should focus on nuclear energies.

DuckBoy87 everything listed is either finite or too weak for major energy production. We need to start building a Dyson sphere while the sun is still young.

I would be more right leaning if they had a nuclear energy option instead of solar and wind.

squrlz4ever I received the same score. That was pretty much the worst poll I have ever taken. I was forced to pick an answer at least four times because nothing matched my answer. Other times there were multiple answers I would have wanted as one answer.

They needed this question half way through:

At this point in the poll how angry are you?

  • I'm fine. I like push polls. Thinking for myself isn't my strong point.
  • Quite. For a company that makes its money off polls I don't think you understand how polls work.
  • Very. How have I made it this far without throwing my phone/computer against the wall?

markust123 Yeah, it was pretty frustrating at times. On several questions, I had to content myself with picking the answer that was the-least-incorrect as opposed to what I actually believe in. Not dissimilar to voting in the two-party system, come to think of it.
