How many hamsters do I need to power up a 100 W light bulb?

fuad119 Fuad, I spent about 20 minutes on this problem of yours before realizing I just don't know enough about electricity to figure it out. Can anyone solve this problem for us (and teach me a thing or two in the process)? Whoever does this will need some knowledge of voltage inverters, voltage transformers, and the relationships among watts, volts, and amps.

I can offer four pieces of information to get the problem underway.
1. This video shows that one hamster can generate 1.5V DC on an exercise wheel (but I don't know how many amps).
2. Cree 100W-equivalent LED bulbs require 18W @ 120V AC (but I don't know how many amps).
3. DC to AC power inverters lose about 5-10% of the input wattage.
4. Hamsters use an exercise wheel about 20% of the time, meaning you'd need 5 hamsters per exercise wheel to have a reasonable chance of keeping the wheel in constant motion.

Whoever decides to tackle this--if anyone--good luck.
