I've no idea who that judge is, but on the couple of times I've seen him, I like him.

I was once captured on a red light camera. The photo  they mail me actually had the time of how long the light had been red when I had crossed the line. 0.04 seconds. I have the option of paying the $75 fine are taking it to court. The city I live in has a mandatory court cost of $100 regardless if you win or lose. I was working a contract job at the time and would have lost $200 if I missed a day of work. So I could pay the bullshit $75 or fight it which I would most likely win and lose $300. Yeah I would have been better off the cops had pulled a gun on me and demanded all the money in my wallet.

dm2754 Depending on where you live, it doesn't matter how long the light was red for.  You still ran the red light.  In my state, the definition for running a red light is, "Entering the intersection when the light is not green."  That means, if you enter the intersection while the light is yellow, you ran a red light.  Doesn't matter how long the light was red for, in fact, the fact that it was red for that long means it was yellow for quite a bit longer and you still entered the intersection, therefore ran a red light.

I do agree though, it is really stupid how it costs more to fight the ticket than to just pay it.

I used to watch this sometimes when I lived in Providence, this judge dismisses a lot of tickets. But parking is very strictly enforced in Providence. I tried to park in the mayor's parking spot one morning because my office was next to City Hall; it was the day the mayor was to start his prison sentence. I pointed out to the cop that Mayor Buddy Cianci would not be using his parking privilege that day, but he was having none of it. He threatened to arrest me. I wonder if this judge would have dismissed my case.

dkm458 My daughter worked in the Dunkin Donuts in Derry where Al would come in, it was near WNDS. He definitely has a unique  personality, similar to his weather forecasts. I don't know where he is now.

White privilege. A black guy would have been shot.

My gripe is with the meter maid that wrote that ticket.  I mean seriously.  9:59?  Give me a break.
