Bill Clinton And George W. Bush Bond In A Sit-Down Conversation About Leadership

Submitted by: boredhuman 1 year ago in News & Politics

On Thursday, former Presidents George W. Bush and Bill Clinton shared a stage and their ideas on what makes a strong leader in today's world.

This sit-down was part of the graduation ceremony for the 2017 class of the Presidential Leadership Scholars Program held at the George W. Bush Presidential Center in Dallas. Despite their opposing political affiliations the two say they have been on very friendly terms for decades and their affinity was on full display.

"He's a brother from a different mother," joked Bush early on, drawing laughter from the crowd.

Below, Bill fucking around at The Bush Center, before the sit-down.

I am pretty much a Bill Clinton fan, and got hot, simply over the fact that i touched his secret service guard, because i was standing next to him.

and i was never a GW fan

But this.... I have absolutely nothing bad to say about this. Past opinions don't count, for me...concerning this. I simply enjoyed this.

I bitch as a matter of course, but i found myself enjoying a nice rest from that while watching this.

Oh yes because the "war of on terror" was so justified and Clinton is just a peach, isn't he? Talk about cult of personality...

Nobody's saying that they're saints free from sin.

But they are both far more measured and mature than our current commander-in-chief.

What a difference between these former POTUS's and the current POTUS.

Holy crap, I love these two together and I'm only 5 minutes in.

They both have lots of confidence, self-assurance, great sense of humor -- you can't buy qualities like that in a POTUS -- you either got it, or you don't.

Great find, boredhuman -- I added some copy for context. I'm really surprised this meeting didn't get more press.

fancylad They're both also responsible for numerous war crimes, reducing social programs, selling the country to corporations, and clamping down on civil liberties. They can smile and joke all they want, but the millions (if not billions) harmed and killed by these two would probably not be laughing.

fancylad Thanks for editing the submission! I didn't want to post this particular video just because of the title... Correct me if i'm wrong, but Trump isn't mentioned at ALL...
Any tips on how to make submissions look this awesome?

boredhuman You did everything perfect, I just embedded the youtube html and found that Clinton photo.

That said, it's a great interview -- I just finished it. Watching these two, it's obvious that I you're either born with charisma and leadership or not -- they make it look so easy.

You can train to be a good leader, but the great ones just have it and it can't be taught.
