Anyone a "Regular Show" Fan? The Creator Has A New Series Coming Soon Called "Close Enough"

Submitted by: melcervini 4 months ago in Entertainment

I'm dying to see this!

"Close Enough" is an upcoming animated television series created by "Regular Show" creator J. G. Quintel for TBS. The series is described as a surreal take on a marred couple transitioning from their 20s to their 30s who juggle everyday challenges like as parenthood, friendship, ham theft, stripper clowns, and choosing the right day care. The show debuts in fall 2017 (or early 2018).

nah, as an adult, i don't watch western media cartoons, the quality is so poor graphically and intellectually.  Simpsons, futurerama, texas beer drinkers by a fence, show with a dog named stewie, southpark, some kind of back to the future wannabe, all horrible shows.  In fact i think that the simpsons being on for 30+ years is why a lot of 30 or so and under people are so ridiculous in the west.  More of the intelligent people i know don't watch them, and it's probably for good reason, no sense wasting your time on that trash.

However i will watch a good cartoon series with good art skill and story, where you can tell they actually cared about their art style and story.  These days i find that kind of cartoon is rare, but i recently watched all of death note, and thought it was very well done, inspiring almost.

monkwarrior You're missing the point of it being a cartoon.  Something you can take your brain out (sometimes) and enjoy a good adult laugh.  Remember laughing your ass off at toons when you were a kid?  Its still fun.

melcervini i can't laugh at western media cartoons there's too much stupidity, and perversion in them, and i have seen only a few shows of the ones i've mentioned, maybe 10-15 in total, but they were jam-packed with it.  I remember me and a friend tried watching the simpsons movie, that was a difficult one, we never finished it, it was so stupid.  I feel it's comedy for people who are not intelligent, and adults who act like kids laughing at stupid things like the first time the kid in class stood up and said 'pen**!"  But that's how a lot of non-cartoon western media comedy is like now.  Clearly the west is going down

daegog i actually enjoyed more interesting western ones, like he-man, g.i. joe, Transformers, voltron.  But the western 'adult' cartoons pretty much took over, and now the whole western media is showing the same stupidity.  It's embarrassing because it doesn't teach you anything but how to be more ridiculous and stupid.

monkwarrior well i dunno what i learned from voltron or he-man but i do seem to recall that anyone actually following the end scenes from GI Joe would become an incredibly conscientious and good person.

Cause knowing is half the battle.
