Megyn Kelly Is Getting Slammed In Every Direction For Interviewing Alex Jones About Sandy Hook

Submitted by: fancylad 4 months ago in News & Politics

To boil it down, NBC and Megyn Kelly interviewed Alex Jones for a piece set to air this Sunday. Jones claims that he was tricked into the interview, as he wasn't informed that Sandy Hook would be a point of conversation. Jones also says he's backed off claims that Sandy Hook was a hoax, but if you look at some of the clips in the video above, he still holds some belief in the Sandy Hook truther movement.

Anyhoo, everyone's up in arms about the interview -- how NBC and Kelly are giving a Sandy Hook truther a platform. These are the same people who don't realize how the mainstream media monster works: Ratings = $$$!

So after watching this interview.  I wonder what it would have been before the controversy?  With that said, she did a good job exposing him.  He already has tens of millions of followers, he has the ear of the President.  Trump has called him a Truth telling media source.  It's telling where Trump "hears things".  Breitbart, Alex Jones, etc that should tell everyone enough about this POTUS.

I don't get the backlash on this.  Yes, Jones has some crazy views, but since Trump sees him as a legitimate news source (as opposed to the "fake news MSM"...LOL), the American people need to know what our President views as legitimate news.  If you are a Trump supporter, you should have no issue with this legitimizing of Jones.  If you are a anti-Trump, you should want this attention to be placed on this for all to see what Trump views as information.

Everybody wins.

It's not Megyn Kelly's fault, that wart and a cancer to society, Alex Jones, should just not exist in the first place.

No one on Earth has a right not to be offended. Not listening to things we don't like is the reason our politics, not just US, is broken.

The sandy Hook children were responsible for 9/11, so they had to be disappeared.
9/11, as we all know, was an attempt by flat earthers to uncover incontrovertible proof that the moon landing was a hoax.

"These are the same people who don't realize how the mainstream media monster works."

Political pundit shows are not "main stream media". They are opinion shows. They are us-against-them bullshit. There are very few actual news programs on cable news. That's because real news is boring. Real news does not bring in the ratings that division provides.

Allow me to preface this by saying that I have no idea who Megyn Kelly is, aside from one of FOX's Stepford news anchors.  I also know that Alex Jones is a crackpot.  As far as the reporting goes, this is kind of what journalists are supposed to do - report the facts.  It's clear from her statements that she doesn't support him, or at least this particular assertion.  I see it as simply her attempt at presenting all sides to the story.

I think her error isn't that she's presenting a negative stance on a tragedy, but more so that by doing the interview she gives credibility to an argument that doesn't exist.  I don't think she should be slammed for doing the interview per se, but I also haven't seen it.  I think a lot depends on the tone of the interview itself.  Is she calling him out for the pain and suffering he is causing the families - the dishonor to the slain?  Is she countering his statements with the truth?  IF so, I see nothing wrong with the interview.  However, if it's simply a forum for him to spread his incredible lies, send her back to the cloning vats for analysis and study.

I guess i do not understand.  Are people getting their panties in a bunch because:
1) they think Alex Jones is subhuman
2) they hate Megan Kelly
3) there is no way to discuss ANY sort of controversial topic today, so the subject is just banned, like when a conservative wants to talk on a college campus, and the college is so pussified they cancel the speech?

spanz #3, then #1 and also #2.
But mostly: the leftist gangs will now openly 'patrol' US Colleges armed with baseball bats and NO ONE will report on it, condemn it or criticise it in any way.
Violence is the first and last tool the leftist has. All else is preparation for violent overthrow and seizing control.

spanz BTW, I hear that ALEX JONES had secretly taped the interview.  So when NBC does a hatchet job editing his comments out of context, he can lay that bare for all to see.  Should actually be an interesting interview...for what it says about current American SOCIETY and intolerance.

insaneai He played it both ways insaneai.  The very next day on the Radio he contradicted himself to his followers.  He's no different than a televanglist, and the free market is encouraging him at the expense of our civility to one another.  Alex Jones and his ilk are dangerous.... very very dangerous and have put profit above all else.

His influence is much larger than I care to believe.  He had over 170 million clicks on his site.  Because of people like Alex Jones, and other men with microphones, they are contributing and causing the discourse we are seeing in society.  I think we need to seriously talk about having a fairness doctrine or forcing these people to clearly state they are making shit up and it's completely opinion.

insaneai Exactly. Alex Jones is just another fraud stirring up anger for the sole purpose of expanding his bank account. Same as Glen Beck was doing. Same as Keith Olbermann was doing. Same as Bill O'Reilly was doing. The scary people are the fans that buy into the anger.

mrteatime The NRA gun sales are based ENTIRELY on a fear motivation.  When they cannot scare people into buying guns and ammo, their sales tank.  Look at how shitty sales are currently, because no one thinks trump and the republicans will touch gun rights.

Im betting the sandy hook hoax was created for the enhancement of firearm sales.

daegog You do know that the NRA does not sell guns right?  Eh..probably not.  Anyway ...those who say SH fake!  ...they're trying to say it was done to drum up more fear of guns.  In other words, it was a lefty plot to call for more gun grabbing legislation.  Crazy, I know.  But extremists on both sides believe some really wacko things.

dromed When i say the NRA, i am referring to the Gun Manufacturers that are the primary beneficiary of the NRA's nonsense.  Its a tad lazy, but much faster to write NRA than it is to write gun manufacturers.

Did you know that some gun companies actually donate a percent of each gun sold to the NRA?

When i look at any conspiracy, i first try to figure out who wins by acknowledging and spreading the issue.  In this case, there can be no doubt that whom the winner of the sandy hook hoax conspiracy is.

mrteatime It may be hard for you to imagine the degree of zealotry, paranoia, and delusion among the communities of American gun nuts. They've convinced themselves this was all an elaborate ruse conducted by the government as part of a plan to take everyone's guns away.

squrlz4ever So gun supporters think things are faked so that guns will get taken away and anti-gun people say things are faked to drive sales?  Weird, both sides think things are faked because it can have either effect on people?

squrlz4ever It is hard to comprehend the level of ignorance at play here. In the UK, the Dunblane massacre put in motion the introduction of laws which essentially banned individuals owning firearms. The thought that anyone trying to twist the facts and deny it ever happened is pretty sickening.

dm2754 This is not about just "an opposing viewpoint." This is about exploiting the most gruesome mass murder in U.S. history, one that killed 20 six- and seven-year-old children. The story here isn't about citizens who are intolerant; it's about charlatans and sickos who have no sense of decency.

If your own six-year-old daughter were shot dead in the face, would you be "tolerant," as you call it, and invite someone into your house who wanted to rant that it was all part of an elaborate ruse and you were just pretending to be the father of a child actor?

dm2754 You're right here. Offpaw, I can think of several instances where Native Americans, including children, were slaughtered in much larger numbers. So let me amend my statement to "the most gruesome mass shooting by a lone gunman in modern history."

As for your other comment, I'm still ruminating over it.

squrlz4ever that's not what tolerance is. If my loved one was killed and somebody thought it was because of a top-secret government conspiracy. I wouldn't stop him from saying so but I would walk away and not listen. When it comes to exploiting tragedy that would pretty much be all news media. And is on modern society we all make money off the misery of others. Funeral parlors don't work on kindness either do hospitals or grocery stores.

dm2754 I'm going to put a contrarian point of view here.  How is what Jones does an "opposing viewpoint"?  He states in one moment that Sandy Hook was a false flag and he's proven it, he started Pizzagate or was one of the original members, He believes 9/11 was an inside job, the moon landing was faked, satanists are taking over, Man made hurricanes, animal human hybrids,  and this is JUST a few of his ridiculous claims.  I mean give me a break.  This is a guy who makes money off the gullibility of others, he's no different than a televangelist.

He sells himself as telling the "truth".  You can't compete against someone that wants you to prove a negative.  That's how he operates.  He's no different than the fraud faith healers.

dm2754 Oh I agree, My argument is if this interview is to shine a light on his ridiculous claims then sure, if it's a "let's get to know a guy who has a massive following and see what he's about" I have a problem with that type of puff piece "journalism".  Exposing him for the fraud he is is fine.  Giving him a platform is bad taste. I'm not calling for the interview to be pulled.  I'm hoping NBC/Megan Kelly is becoming or displays "Journalistic integrity".

dromed Oh ya. He is BATSHIT FUCKING CRAZY. This is a direct quote:

"with Hillary, there's not even the same universe. She is an abject, psychopathic, demon from Hell that as soon as she gets into power is going to try to destroy the planet. I'm sure of that, and people around her say she's so dark now, and so evil, and so possessed that they are having nightmares, they're freaking out. Folks let me just tell you something, and if media wants to go with this, that's fine. There are dozens of videos and photos of Obama having flies land on him, indoors, at all times of year, and he'll be next to a hundred people and no one has flies on them. Hillary, reportedly, I mean, I was told by people around her that they think she's demon-possessed, okay? I'm just going to go ahead and say it, okay? "
