Trump's Border Wall Is Being Built Right Now

Submitted by: holygod 3 months ago in News & Politics

Sean Spicer and Mick Mulvaney both held press conferences and showed pictures of walls being built. They said this is Trump hard at work keeping us safe. Too bad it is just an upgrade to an existing wall and was signed and funded by Bush and Obama. In fact the wall in the pictures? It was under construction three months before the election. Oh and the chain link fence? Just something the construction crew put up for safety.

Can this administration be any more full of shit?

Looks more like an Iron Curtain!

I didn't realise the US of China had a Mongolian problem.
I didn't realise the US of Constantinople had a Hun problem.
I didn't realise the US of Hadrian had a Picts problem.
I didn't realise the US of Greece had a Spartan problem.

I thought walls only divided the East from the West.

You're not the first to build a wall, and probably won't be the last. But just know that it never succeeds.

Oh and if you are still reading this and wondered about humans in a 1000 years, the thing they forgot was that there would not be any individual countries by then. Enough cross-race-breeding will have occured, and the realisation that monopolies of little bits of land is a futile excercise.

stifler You are clearly an idiot.
Hungary has a wall, now, illegal entry has dropped by 90%
Israel built a security fence, terror attacks dropped by 80%
Saudi Arabia is building 2 walls, combined they are almost as long as Amrica's planned wall... no one objecting to that? I wonder why?
& etc.

And if you thing the Great Wall "failed"? You really are dumb.

Also: The Iron Curtain was built to keep lawful citizens IN not to keep unwanted illegals OUT.

I'm sorry, I didn't realise that we were going to approach this like that. Let me respond (something I dont normally do because it is usually to a heathen)

5cats You are clearly a stupid dumb cunt that needs to be eliminated from the face of earth. If I could travel back in time, I would go back and cock block your pathetic excuse of a father.

Off the top of my head, 1550 - Altan Khan. Went north and fucked Beijing.

"Israel security wall", do you mean the Israeli West Bank barrier? Fuck! I'm Australian and think you need to fuck of and die you cunt. It kills all chance of peace negotiations. But that is why you cited it, isnt it - because you a a bigoted FUCK FACE CUNT.

All walls have failed. Though I expect that the 'Murican one will probably fail because no one will be smart enough to be able to maintain it, once the clever mexicans who build it leave..

5cats - you are the lowest of fucking low. If you took a shit before an exam, you would lower your IQ so much, you would fail.

  2. emotion
  3. repetition of stupid shit

Sad to hear you have so many issues, seek help ok?

Because the professional propaganda men Obama trotted out, Jay Carney and Josh Earnest, never once made a mistake! Or said one incorrect word! Or outright lied to America, or defended Obama's lies.
Nope, not even once.

It doesn't matter that Trump doesn't actually FUND the building of it, or that the Repub Congress was chickenshit by not funding it, this is the spin that looks bad for Trump so it is news! Facts need not apply.

So Obama was actually building a wall you say now? Yet Trump is a baby-murdering monster for... wanting to build a proper wall. Once more, Liberal Logic at its finest! Obama did it = good. Trumps wants to do it = bad! Liberal Logic tm.

5cats HAHAHAHAHAHAHA. It must suck so bad being you. This is straight up verifiable video evidence of you being outright lied to and all your pathetic little brain can do is go ya but but but OBAMA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!.

I have a test for you. Obama was president for 8 years. Post a video of an outright verifiable, not up for debate lie that was a lie at the time it was stated. ONE. Go ahead. It may exist. I haven't seen it. Educate me. Prove your point.

Let me clarify, I'm not talking about "you can keep your doctor". That is something he said that turned out to be untrue. However, he may well have thought it was going to be true at the time he said it. If the weatherman says it is going to rain tomorrow and then it doesn't, he didn't LIE. He was just wrong.

they are replacing existing fence with this new 30' high steel see-thru wall.  It is the prototype for the new sections coming later this year.  Trump is not going to give up on this one.  If you think he is, you are delusional.  He is going to rig the september budget bill to either have the wall, or he will veto it.  Get used to it.

I think you all need to go back and listen to what he is saying he is using this as an example of what  is not just happening but, what he will do, the budget has money to improve and build new wall where  there is wall (that includes fencing) already. And yes there is chain link fence used also there was probably chain link at that place before the construction workers took it down and replaced it with the more mobile fencing that is in the pics. Basically what he is saying were there is inadequate walls and fencing there will be improved structures built. Once again you don't hear what he is saying you hear what you want. He has the same power the other presidents had but failed to use to there full potential.

casaledana NO. NO. NO. There was NOT chain link fence there before. There was a similar wall that simply wasn't quite as high or sophisticated. They lied directly to you. Call them on it. It shouldn't matter if they are D or R. Why doesn't this anger you?

holygod So at this point there was no chain link fence I didn't say there was I stated that there probably was, makes no difference low fence now high fence, wall, partition, barricade, façade, bulwark, levee, impediment, limitation, palisade call it what you like, cry all you want, the point is the new protective device at the border is being built. It s replacing the other less protective device that was there before. And I don't care were it came from just that its going up.

casaledana So there was a 20 foot high wall and then it was replaced by a 25 foot wall. A wall improved under legislation from the bush administration with funding approved by the Obama administration that was being built in August and has ZERO to do with the Trump administration. The chain link fence was something the construction workers put up during the build.

Now two people from the administration got in front of the American people and said:
1. The chain link fence was the fence being replaced
2. It was being replaced as a result of this bill
3. Trump is the reason it is going up

Those are fucking LIES. Not half truths. Not misunderstandings. Not exaggerations. Complete and total lies.

How does that not piss you off?

holygod Again you need to hear what the guy says, he is saying that there is millions of dollars to improve the fence from the new Fed budget and that there is chain link out there and it will be replaced, that new wall over and above the wall that is being built now by Obama and Bush. I see a example of the wall being built and a statement that chain link is going to be replace, if you dont what to hear what is being said that's your problem and its not a lie until he does not build the wall.

casaledana :48 seconds: "This is what's out there right now and this is what's going to be put in as a result of this bill"

That is a FLAT OUT LIE. There is no way to twist it. Your cognitive dissonance is astounding.

rumham  I don't have to defend the statements made, any one that truly understands English and Political hyperbole should understand it. So lets look at it another way the left tried to blame Trump for the loss of two Navy seals despite the fact that there mission was OK'ed under Obama. They tried to claim Trump president his deaths. So using that logic Trumps president, its his wall. You cant have it both ways.

Male 39,693
casaledana Liberal Logic is always 'both ways' eh?
If bad things happened under Obama? Bush's fault. Good things? Obama's responsible!
But now that Trump is in office? Complete reversal, and they see nothing wrong with this. ALL bad things are Trump's fault, and all good things Obama's (the previous administration) doing.
Then they wonder why we no longer believe the DNC or MSM...

This is the press secretary of the president directly lying to people about something verifiably false. Can you IMAGINE 5Cats ranting and raving if Obama's team did this? We are seeing the hypocrisy now of a lot of those on the right. Everything Obama did that they didn't like: No transparency, little experience, non bi-partisanship, golfing, travel expenses, dishonesty, pushing through legislation blindly, cover-ups, scandals, etc, etc, etc, this Trump administration does exponentially. Yet they have nothing to say about it.

The fact that Fox News probably isn't covering this is proof of the fact that they are simply propaganda. This is news. For sure. Say what you want about "fake" news but CNN and MSNBC covered the IRS "scandal", Benghazi, and Clinton's emails ad nauseam.

My gosh, as an American, I'm embarrassed by this. Every American should be. Has the level of American education fallen so low that we are unable to confirm facts? Are we ... what? ... peculiarly incompetent? Is our character so full of bluster and arrogance that we can no longer be trusted? Can someone please tell me how we can be giving press conferences that are this inept and inaccurate?

These are serious questions being asked as an American, not a partisan attack.

squrlz4ever in a nation that likely killed one of its greatest leaders it ever had, attacked itself many times and used that as a cover to attack others, and also lies about its achievements, you are only asking these questions now?  If you weren't asking them by the late 90s, you're already 20 years behind.

monkwarrior "Lies about its achievements"? Are you trying to connect my comment with your belief that man never landed on the Moon (or maybe did, but you refuse to believe it unless NASA takes you there personally)? *facepaw*

Monk, I hate to break it to you, but in this tidal wave of stupidity that seems to be rolling over the nation, you're part of the problem.

squrlz4ever Actually i'm not part of the problem.  I see there is a problem though, and its about a nation that thinks it can do what it wants, even purposefully mislead with confusion or deception.  I understand it is hard for people who have not questioned it, or have accepted its way for so long, that they don't or won't question it, despite the growing reasons to question it. But like how it is for most people in the information age, we want to follow the facts and not assertions, and really find the root of the questions and problem.

Well it turns out if you follow the trail, one major problem shows up, and that's a love for money and power running unbridled in that nation, which is causing arrogance, pride, corruption, deception, and so many other negative influences on society.  As we are in the information age we can see the exponential acceleration of moral decay has occurred from these practices.  We can also can figure a solution:  stiff laws and penalties against greed up to life imprisonment.  We recognize the love for money and the greed, lies, divisions, and burdens it creates is damaging us as a human family.  Also, that it is up to us to find a way to ensure that  future generations will secure from the exploitation this unhealthy love for mammon that runs unbridled today.  That means one of our upcoming steps is to gather and enact a safeguard to bridle and ensure the love for money is muzzled to not stunt the success of future generations.  People are growing tired of the confusion and lies and greed, and we have a chance to re-adjust our priorities early in the information age, to live in truth, with true governance, not propaganda.  We're realizing that we owe it to ourselves and our offspring to keep them free from this danger we know, see, and experience today ourselves, rather than be lulled with propagandas.

So you see, that's one of the real problems, in case you really wanted to know.  But i am not the problem, i completely understand it though if someone would think i am.  For example, i-a-b's own holygod responded with mockery and judgments of fallacious assertions as he focused his hate and spite at me, because he thinks i am a problem.  But the reality is quite simple, as people living a lie hate to hear the truth, and that's why it's good to ask questions, and not assert things and close off learning about topics like he did

monkwarrior Monk, we're talking about two different things here.

I'm talking about a fairly recent phenomenon, something that's come to full fruition with the Trump administration--namely, the disregard, and even disdain, for facts on the part of large swaths of the general public and many of our elected officials and their representatives. There have always been instances of stupidity, both in our nation and others. But not like this. We've got a President of the United States who declares that "no one" has asked why the Civil War couldn't be avoided; we've got elected representatives who head scientific committees who don't seem to understand what the scientific method is; and we've got a large amount of the electorate, when faced with blatant lies, such as those ocurring in this video clip, saying nothing or shrugging and saying, "So what?"

You, on the other paw, are going off on your oft-repeated jeremiad about America and the love of money and power. That complaint is nothing new. Probably the most effective critique of it that comes to mind was made by Mark Twain in his essay, "To the Person Sitting in Darkness." That was published 116 years ago.

squrlz4ever hah, this 'recent phenomenon' you call is people getting fed up with the situation that has been growing for nearly the last century.  The problem should be obvious to everyone now, especially within the last 20 years, and the solution should be obvious now.

monkwarrior Again, we're talking about different things. You're going on about what you always go on about: America is in love with money and power, gather and chant the magic words, sinners repent, etc.

I'm talking about the recent phenomenon of "alternative facts"--both their dissemination and the blasé acceptance among the public of same.

Oh well, I tried. Moving on.

holygod In all candor, I think Monk is intelligent. I don't know how old he is, but what I see with Monk is something that seems to be generational and more and more common. For lack of an existing term, I'll call it Post-Post-Modern Syndrome or PPMS. It's a result, I think, of people being exposed to a tremendous diversity of opinions and a lot of cynicism, primarily through the internet, without having obtained the foundation of a really good education.

I am entirely serious about this. If you're reading this Monk, I am not trying to insult you in this comment (and I apologize if I have). I'm just doing my best to describe a troubling phenomenon that is more and more prevalent.

holygod this is exactly why you lose so many arguments in relation to faith in God: your presumption causes you to fail right from the start, as you have closed yourself to the possibility of the truth contained within scripture from the presumption.

monkwarrior There is no truth contained in the scripture. It's a bunch of mistranslated, edited, retellings of folk tales verbally passed on for generations based on creation myths and stories borrowed from other religions. Any critical unbiased analysis pretty much comes to that conclusion.

See. I have TRIED to believe in it. It would make life so much easier and mortality so much less scary. I really tried. However, unlike you, I wasn't brainwashed from birth and my critical mind just wouldn't allow it.

holygod Again you simply came out asserting presumptions again, clearly inspired by your personal incredulity.  Too bad your 'critical' mind still doesn't clue in to how ridiculous you make yourself look by doing that, or even how juvenile your grown man mind is when you're trying to insult others like an arrogant a teenage bully.  There is such thing as being too critical, perhaps you haven't been mindful of that and let it lead you to become bitter.

holygod Huh. I think you've dialogued with Monk more than I have. I've never broached the topic of the Bible with him. If he's thinking it's literally accurate, yeah, that's a big red flag.

I may try to getting into a longish discussion with Monk tonight. I have some time and I'm intrigued by this PPMS idea I touched on above. I want to see if I can develop it a bit more and see if it holds up.
