This Florida Man Is Creeping Out His Neighborhood By Covering Every Square Inch Of His Home In Foil

Submitted by: fancylad 8 months ago in Lifestyle Weird

I was really hoping the guy who owns this home was a conspiracy theorists or a UFO abduction survivor, but no such luck, he's an artist. The guy's name is Piotr Janowski and he's a Polish artist who's using his home, sidewalk, and neighboring trees as a canvas. The aluminum foil he's using here is a device to get people thinking about how to make people think in uncommon ways about common goods -- he calls his piece "402 Ashland Ave."

I'm just going to assume he's a Tin Foil Hat kook though -- he's from Florida after all.

Slacker! The roof and under the eaves isn't covered. And look at all that uncovered grass!

there'll be no cellphone signal inside the house, but on the plus side the neighbours won't be able to steal his wifi.

I wonder, if he did the roof too, if it would contribute to cooling the house?

monkwarrior Yes, it would.

But a highly reflective surface may piss off the neighbors and the occasional blinded motorist.

monkwarrior I was thinking the same thing -- I think it would actually cool the house down, no? It would reflect the sun off the surface, or it would bake him like a convection oven.

fancylad well all i can say is people say they can keep their house, room cool with foil window blockers.  But i've never seen someone attempt to cover almost a whole house.

monkwarrior I can't say about covering the entire house, but it did lower my electrical bills when I redid my old shingle roof with "mill finish" (plain galvanized) sheet metal. I can see how it could help by covering the entire house, but don't know for sure.
