The Democrats Are Going To Call For Trump's Impeachment On The House Floor Today

Submitted by: fancylad 6 months ago in News & Politics

Early this morning, Rep. Al Green (D-Texas) announced that he will call for Trump to be impeached on the House floor on Wednesday morning.

"Today on the floor of the Congress of the United States of America, I will call for the Impeachment of the President," Green tweeted.

It's happening...

They can call for anything they want but they would have better luck calling for a pizza.

What's the point? As long as the Republicans control the Senate they will never convict him of anything.

kalron27 it only takes 4 words to change, why take this silly long way around, to drag it out for several generations so people can forget and risk being forced to comply?

monkwarrior yet you mock a site that is trying to inform those who feed into "this silly long way around" by exposing the problems that exist\force us to comply?

kalron27 uhhhh i stated i-am-political because thats what this site is becoming.  Before it was random stuff that was cool, a place i would visit after i read the regular news.  But now it's just becoming an echo chamber for that news, although going a little bit more ridiculous on it since the only election that seemed to matter to the site.

kalron27 nice, assuming "we" means all the world, as if all the world cares about this.  trust me, no one outside your country really gives a hoot, except for the mainstream media branches in other countries as they attempt the western social engineering so many in the west like yourself are falling for.

monkwarrior You've got to be kidding me, the entire world has been watching what Trumpy will do.  One of the main fall outs from his election is a drastic reduction in foreign travel into America for tourism.  It is down right devastating in some areas.  In addition, International Student enrollment is down due to rejections of student visas causing havoc in the educational system.  Foreign stock markets, especially in Japan have been directly effected by Trump.  The world view if America currently is skeptical and there is growing data that shows Trump has increased a push for extremism in some areas.

" as they attempt the western social engineering so many in the west like yourself are falling for. "

What the fuck does that even mean?  America is not the only "western social engineering" country.  It originated in Europe and Western culture spans north, south and east of America through the European nations.

FYI...I'm more into Eastern philosophy thank you very much, but I am sure as fuck paying attention to what is not only happening in "my country" but the rest of the world as well.

kalron27 "The entire world has been watching what trump will do" is not correct.  The entire western mainstream media has been watching and speculating what trump will do, its branches overseas are running the pieces, and some stories are running in other places.  But the entire world does not care as much as the mainstream media depicts in the slightest.

The western social engineering has been going on for quite some time, it's just what it implies, engineering the society with its propagandas to achieve specific goals for the society (for better or worse).

monkwarrior

You are delusional if you think the decisions that are being made by powerful wealthy people like Trump are not influencing our reality, our entire planet on a daily basis.  Worldwide.  This isn't propaganda, the decisions made over the past 5 months will effect our planet for decades to come.

Look at the French elections to see how much Trump has influenced other nations, the Nationalist and xenophobic momentums are a direct result of the US elections.  And the fall out of that is effecting our society already.

I'm not sure what rock you live under, but is must be blinding oblivious.

kalron27 Funny you would say that, because as i've been saying, it can all be dealt with using 4 simple words, repeated over and over by growing numbers:
  • death
  • to
  • the
  • presidency

persist, and win. It's the shortest route, to the point. direct, effective.  And upon win will inspire generations to keep their governments in check, to help prevent the very problems you mentioned.  It's not delusional to find a problem and a resolution, but it may be to say someone who does is delusional.

Everyone will stay quiet until the vote, then we'll see some people gaining a spine.  It will be interesting nonetheless even if it does fail as they'll learn for the next time.

marsii agreed. If they do it, they have to make it stick. Mind you, he can do down in history as the only president impeached repeatedly and that would be OK with me.

MidPacific so sad that all these ppl have no idea what they are talking about. the only thing he can be impeached for is not giving up control of his international companies, and even if he is impeached, AND found guilty he will just have to put control of his company in a blind trust,

C_Frost Obstruction of Justice. If he fired Comey to stop the ongoing Russia investigation, this is exactly the same procedure than for Nixon.

MidPacific As Trump himself said in 2008:

"Well, he lied."

Lol, in all seriousness, they need to stop all of this impeachment talk until they have a slam-dunk case. Don't get me wrong, I'm all for impeaching Trump, but there isn't enough evidence to impeach him or anything...yet.

MidPacific I think probably for giving classified intelligence to russian operatives? DOn't know. I mean that's not as big a deal as getting a blowjob, but it still seems bad.

holygod loved the sarcasm.

Regarding the classified intel: Strangely, the President is allowed unlimited authority to declassify information.  I guess 45 was correct when he tweeted he was within his rights to reveal the information that he did.  To me, the damage he caused by doing so is what is problematic.  By sharing info he was apparently asked NOT to share, it is now likely that other countries/allies will choose NOT to share their intel with us any longer.  Sadly, that's not an impeachable offense.

I'm guessing it's the obstruction of justice charge that will get him... eventually... if at all.  I find it interesting that this is one of the same charges the Republicans used on Clinton.  Things come full circle... again.  Will anyone ever learn?

holygod  Clinton was impeached for lying  in a  sexual harassment lawsuit  filed by Paula Jones where he lied about his affair with Monica Lewinsky he should have been questioned about it and he lied. Perjury and Obstruction of Justice no one has the right to lie to the courts. You all remember " I have never had sexual relations with Monica Lewinsky I've never had an affair with her" He later admitted that the statement was wrong and he had indeed had a sexual relationship with her. That is why he was impeached and it was perfectly proper to be asked that question in the course of the lawsuit.
