Way back when there was a lot of interest and studies done with these sorts of drugs. LSD was almost accepted as a form of therapy in several nations, iirc.
However? I think the over-all dangers of addiction and side effects rules them out as a mass-use method. Individual cases? Sure! Give it a try! With your doctor(s) approval and supervision of course.

That and the idiotic "War on Drugs" which put an end to a lot of research... stupidest thing Reagan ever did!

5cats It was Nixon that started that war on drugs thing, but in his defence, he started the E.P.A.

james_eggleston Before that it was the battle against "reefer madness" and before that it was heroin or LSD... all the way back to "Tea Houses" before WW1 which served pot-tea, which was better than booze was back then eh? Which is why the booze industry shut them down :/
Or so I've read.
I think Reagan coined the phrase or officially applied the existing term? I remember being dismayed by it even back then. What a disaster it has been.
