The problem here is, the democrats are too stupid and greedy themselves to grab this issue and use it to win the potus and both houses..

Gun control, abortion, immigration, lgbt rights.. Think what you want about that, but you will be hard pressed to find people that are against; fast, private and cheap internet access.

The important thing to remember here is that the guy appointed as head of the FCC doesn't have a conflict of interest. He doesn't work for Verizon. He only USED to work for Verizon.

trimble It is required to live in the 21st century.  Good luck getting a job, attending school or even participating in modern society without one.  It is as important to a modern citizen as power, water and sewage\trash utilities.

trimble Also that is NOT the argument being made here.  But what should one expect from someone that doesn't like their views challenged?

Well he certainly made it easy to comment :).  I did.

If banks can't operate fairly can competitively without regulation how the heck will ISP's do with no regulation? The new FCC sounds like a huge tool.

Kiss you cheap Netflix goodbye, Service Providers are about to throttle any streaming sights speeds until they pay Mafia prices.  This will jack up the consumer cost in the end.  Since most Service Providers are also contact providers through cable, they can now recoup the losses from people leaving cable for online streaming by screwing us over on connectivity to said services.  And that is just the beginning, just like the end of unlimited data, we will see the beginnings of throttled internet at home.  Only those who can afford high speed will get it, the rest of us will go back to the stone age...aka...dial up.

kalron27 Ya know, dial up's not entirely without its charm.  There are times when I almost miss the old 300 baud - bbs days.  Simpler times :)

Anyone that is against Net Neutrality you are lock step with Verizon, Comcast, Time Warner, Cox, etc.  Just look at who's for it and who's against it.  That should tell you all you need to know.  Letting Corporations that are motivated by greed will do whatever makes the most money.  Creating fast and slow lanes is completely plausible.

Been harping on this since Trump allowed ISP's to use your data without a way to opt out.  Terrible and this is the logical next step.
