Neil deGrasse Tyson Explains The Whole Of The Universe While Eating Spicy Wings

I think he's great, although I know some regulars on IAB hate him for whatever reason.

I love Old Spice.
If it weren't for my grandfather wearing Old Spice I wouldn't be here.

I watched the first five minutes of this and want to watch the rest later so I'll comment on the accusation in the subtitle.

NDT is a wonderful and intelligent asshole.  I wish I could leave the asshole part out of it but he's too effing smug in too many of his documentaries where he is supposed to be talking about science but he insults religion at every opportunity he can create.  We get it, you're an athiest.  Now shut up about religion and talk about science.

With that said, I've learned a lot from NDT and hope he continues to put out more material and fight for science funding and NASA and all the other things that can help the world for generations to come.

insaneai he's got a video on youtube where he specifically says he's an agnostic, not an atheist. Ironically, he says this by saying "I don't categorise entire groups of people by labelling them... like atheists do".

He's charismatic and a good presenter, but he's not as smart as he presents. It was weird seeing him say that the only scientific mistake in Interstellar was the hanging ice, for example (that film is full of tons of scientific mistakes (reasonable for a film, though))

And now that I've completed the video, his answer to the 'big question' at the end is Category A Bullshit. Entertaining video though.

Could you cite some examples? When I tried to Google search Neil deGrasse Tyson and religion, I came across this video where he talks about how he uses Christian phrases and respects the cultural heritage that comes with Christian influences and this article that talks about how the Cosmos program is not an attack on religion, it's an attack on dogma.

insaneai Erm, I ask you to cite examples and you tell me to watch a show with six seasons that was playing for over 7 years? Is there any way you could be a bit more specific?

bliznik Oh, yes.  I could be more specific.  I would just have to watch six seasons to figure out.  Or, if you care that much, you can watch for it yourself.

He's popular, and he's made a couple of mistakes here and there. Nothing like separating families through deportation bans or firing people for doing their job. But he's misstated or overstated facts a few times. On the Internet, making those kinds of mistakes deserves a hanging.

bliznik I find him to be another mouthy SJW who happens to have the coolest job in the world. I wish people like him would stick to that. His opinions are just that, his and he's more than welcome to them. But sometimes he just talks out his ass and doesn't realize it.
