Jimmy Fallon Says He Was "Devastated" After Trump's Appearence On His Late Night Show

Submitted by: fancylad 1 month ago in Entertainment News & Politics

Nooooow he has regret. In a New York Times profile, Jimmy Fallon talked for the first time about his September 2016 "Tonight Show" interview with Trump. As you remember, Fallon was criticized for seemingly kissing Trump's ass, concluding with Fallon tousling Trump's hair. Many saw the segment humanizing Trump.

"After this happened, I was devastated," Fallon said. "I didn’t mean anything by it. I was just trying to have fun. I didn’t do it [tousle his hair] to humanize him. I almost did it to minimize him. I didn’t think that would be a compliment: 'He did the thing that we all wanted to do.'"

Can you imagine if a Republican political candidate said something along the lines of, "I didn't mean to humanize Barack Obama, I didn't mean anything by it." These people are terrible.

I have never watched his show, just not particularly interested in those kind of shows any more but this is what the liberal media has done any one that does not walk in lock step with them is demonized.

He's not a hard hitting reporter, he's a comic. What did they expect, Barbara Walters?

Not Fallon's fault. We're so used to getting our hard hitting opinion/news from comedy shows now that a comedian who just tried to do comedy on TV is being treated like he's failed at some responsibility that he never signed up for.
