Fine art glass artist Jack Storms makes some pretty awesome glass art.

As a note, I spoke to a glass worker/blower I know and he indicated that this guy apparently "borrowed" the technique from another glass artist.  Their part of the internet is in a big back and forth about who was first, who is a true artist, etc.

Unfortunately, I can't remember this other artist's name, but I will try to find a link to his site so I can at least see what the other guys does.

In-between all the bits where he's talking about how awesome he is, you can hear the occasional comment about the sculptures.

barry9a LOL. I've been slow to pick up on that, but yeah, there is a more than a little ego present.

Pretty cool. He had some interesting thoughts about it all, too. One of these pieces displayed in a well-lit niche in the wall could really make a room.

Update: Just checked the artist's own website and the website for a Los Angeles art gallery owned by his wife. He's doing very well, it appears. His pieces start at around $12,000 and go up from there to $100,000 or more.

Just need some shag carpeting,  sheepskin rugs, and lava lamps and got yourself a shagtorium.

I've always wanted to work with glass but I can't handle all the heat. This sounds like a great alternative.

squidbush Apologies - I didn't see the "great alternative".

This technique could make some great sci-fi props, like a zetabyte storage device for the death star 4.0 plans (in star wars XI).

I had a friend who blew glass, fascinating experience to watch him work...and utilize his work after the fact...
