Trump Had A Smaller Turnout For The Patriots Visit To The White House As Well As His Inauguration

Submitted by: fancylad 1 month ago in News & Politics

It's a time-honored tradition for winning sports teams to show up to the White House after their respected championship games and pose for photos with the standing president. Today, the New England Patriots visited the White House in honor of their miraculous win against the Atlanta Falcons two months ago.

In a side-by-side comparison from the Pats' visit in 2015, you can see quite a few players missing this year. According to The Boston Globe, 34 members of the Patriots were at the White House to visit with Trump -- EXCLUDING Trump BFF Tom Brady (he had "family issues" to tend to). In 2015, it’s thought that the number was closer to 50 when Obama was in office.

Since the only person that cares about the amount of people who showed up to this meaningless gesture is Trump, expect a flurry of angry tweets from him about size tomorrow morning.

Seriously?  This is what IAB has become.  I seriously believe if Trump cured cancer half you lot would complain about him putting thousands of medical professionals out of work.  This constant whinging says more about you lot than it does about Trump.

dromed Where were you when 5Cats was posting every day about Obama not wearing a jacket in the oval office or saluting with a coffee cup in his hand? Seriously?

I'm actually consistent and have said on multiple occasions that a lot of these Trump posts are meaningless petty bullshit. You are just playing the "sides" game, whining about whining.

dromed I would absolutely celebrate if Trump cures cancer.  That said, I seem to remember someone saying something similar about Obama.  The similarities of the arguments posited 12 months ago and today are striking - it's just that the sides are switched.  Someone, somewhere is laughing at all of us.  I can't be the only one seeing this.

trimble Same here. I'm kinda seeing similarities between fancylad's posts lately and 5cats' posts now. Which is kind of depressing...

bliznik I was hoping fancy was kidding around, maybe making fun of himself for posting all the minutia but I think he was really hurt on election night and just can't get past it. I think he really has turned his site into a crusade. Cats doesn't own the website.

Have you guys considered that 5cats and Fancylad are actually the same person. A master troll, who gets his lulz at the flame wars he is able to start. Where is MonkWarrior when we need him, how did he miss this conspiracy.

melcervini You can spin it however you want. There are 34 players in Trump's photo and 50 players in Obama's photo (not counting staff). It doesn't matter. It isn't important. But 50 is way more than 34. Almost 50% more.

melcervini "You" as in the global you. As in the Patriots who happen to be owned by a personal friend of Trump. I'm aware you didn't make any additional context.

melcervini Golden.  People are making a big deal that Trump might make a big deal out of something that he won't because the same number of people were there just not in the photo.  More grasping at straws looking for things to make fun of that aren't even there.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not Trump fan either, but seriously guys, find something better to do with your time, maybe something productive that does the country some good.  Picking on Trump, deservedly or not, does no good.  All it does is further the polarization that causes more and more problems.  Trump is in office, it happened, get over it and do something productive.

It was Obama's fault/ He and Hillery diverted some of  the players to  another event after wiretapping his office to find out Trump's plan
