This Old Star Wars "Making Of" Documentary Surprisingly Has A Lot Of Cool Behind-The-Scenes Footage

Submitted by: fancylad 1 year ago in Entertainment

This old doc is called "The Making of Star Wars told by C-3PO and R2-D2" and it first aired on network TV on September 16, 1977 on ABC -- about four months after what we now call "A New Hope" debuted.

Worth skimming for the old behind-the-scenes footage of how much manual labor was involved in some scenes. Now, it's all CGI.

Visited a couple of the Tunisian sets a few years back and even had a beer in Luke's home. Amazing what the props guys did with some plastic pipe and chicken wire to make the place look so real.
