The BBC Did A Pretty Interesting 15-Minute Documentary On Micro-Dosing LSD

This is the new thing, IAB -- this is how your grandkids will be medicating.

On one hand, I get it -- I've been reading a lot about the LSD micro-dose with the Steve Jobs wanna-be's up in Silicon Valley (I don't think the craze has hit Silicon Beach yet, but I keep my ear out on the streets). They say it stimulates the creative process... of course it does -- it's fucking acid.

They sell micro-dosing weed mints that you're supposed to take throughout the day which are supposed to keep you nice and lightly buzzed. Those are a lot safer -- you don't want to mess around with longterm LSD trips. Once or twice at a String Cheese Incident gig, maybe, but every day?

I know a fair few people who micro-dose, not only with acid but with MDMA and speed. it does indeed work wonders for those who can do it- but more than a few have spent extended periods in secure wards trying to find a suitable anti-psychotic.

this is a GREAT IDEA, since EVERYONE is mentally stable enough to take acid daily!  NOT!

I tried Acid once in collage. I mixed it with a cup of Swiss Mocha Coffie. The buzz started mellow and pleasently enough, about 2 hours into it I got a case of the melts. felt like my face was melting. It wasn't scary feeling just weird. After that past about 4 hours into it I was feeling kind of normal so I was channel surfing on the TV and as I switched through the 700 club I saw the Devil. After about 6 hours I felt that I was able to bring myself down from the high and then, the worst thing that could have happened, I let my old room mate in. His life time ambition it seemed was to try to make stoned people laugh. Well he got me laughing so hard I lost it. I couldn't stop laughing for over an hour. I almost peed myself from his antics. All in all it was a weird experience. Strange thing is every time I drink swiss Mocha I seem to have a minor flash back.

Reminds me of a story my aunt tells about my grandma. My grandma, a tiny but angry red headed lady, was diagnosed with severe depression in the 1950's (not a good time for psychiatric care). Anyway, my aunt found my grandma one day running down the path to her pond screaming and shouting incoherent nonsense. My aunt got my grandma calmed down and called the doctor who immediately took her off an experimental treatment. Turns out my very conservative grandma had been prescribed some form of LSD (or a closely related derivative) and had been tripping pretty hard...still makes me laugh thinking about it.
