One Of The Too Few Awesome Performances At Coachella This Weekend Was By Hans Zimmer.

Sadly, no Johnny Marr, but at least the band's playing instruments and not relying on DJs, dancers, and complicated light shows.

So when did Coachella lose it's way? Certainly not the last time I went when The Replacements played it -- 2014. When I went, there were yet to be Kardashians and Jenners and it wasn't a brand opportunity. The first year I went was in 1999 when Morrissey and Beck headlined -- it was like a local county fair.

This year, except for a few rarities like Hans Zimmer, it's like every other modern pop radio summer festival your city hosts. It's a shame the guys who created Coachella (Paul Tollett and Rick Van Santen) decided to follow the money instead of the art.

Well that is the best thing I have seen from Coachella since the premier of Colonel Claypool's Bucket of Bernie Brains...
