Trump's Approval Rating Plummets Further With A New All-Time Low: 36%

Submitted by: fancylad 2 months ago in News & Politics

Trump's Gallup Poll approval rating took another hit over the weekend and lowered again to 36 percent. I wonder how low his rating goes before the number bottoms out. If I was forced to pick a number, I'd say Trump bottoms out at a 22% approval rating. I'm sure there's a Vegas casino that has odds on this number.

Maybe Trump's numbers would stabilize (and even go up) if he didn't spend so much time on the golf course. He's already played 13 rounds in the nine weeks he's been president. That seems excessive.

Golfing is apparently very popular with Oompa-loompas....

I remember back in the bad-old-days....Oompas couldn't get country club memberships. Thankfully, 'Murica is on it's way to being great again. Huzzah!

Obama didn't play his first round of golf as President until April 26th - three months after he took office. Trump played his first round two weeks into his term. Two weeks! In two months President Trump has played somewhere around 13 rounds. We don't know the exact number because the White House has been lying for him. Only when they get caught in a lie do they admit that he did actually play a round. For instance when pressured that Trump was seen playing golf they lied and said he only played a couple holes. That was a little confusing for Rory McIlroy as he had played a full 18 holes with the President. Being cornered with the truth the White House's story changed to, oh, um, he was planning on only playing a couple holes but ended up playing a full round. Yeah, that's the ticket.

The man is a vulgar disgrace- lets face it, you wouldn't ask the thing to dinner let alone to represent you anywhere. How the hell the self aggrandising lazy arsehole managed to actually win anything is a mystery. If it wasn't for his stance on climate change (and my sympathy for the millions his policies will harm) it would be great comedy. Pence may be a walking nightmare- but he's at least slightly competent.

First, are these the same polls that had everyone convinced Clinton would win in a landslide? Second, why do you always, and I mean always, fall for the fake news narrative? Makes you feel better about yourselves? Your own safe zone I guess? Do people on the left not realize that if you demonize all things Trump it simply becomes tiring, endless noise? Most of those 13 “visits” to golf courses are actually just meetings where the most golf he even “plays” is a photo-op of him taking a swing. You do realize Mar a Lago is a golf resort right? He owns at least 5 golf courses that I know of. How many of these “visits” are actually rounds of golf? Not many.

trimble I want to be perfectly clear.  i don't care what a President does to unwind.  I think the Golfing thing is completely overblown.  Being President has to be the most stressful job in the world.  I'm calling out the hypocrisy of President Trump and the people that used Golfing against previous Administrations.

trimble Also you are wrong about this is the "Same polls"  Gallup NEVER prognosticated the Election.  They've been doing approval ratings since FDR.   Man anyone that has done any bit of research would have known this.  Are you just regurgitating Breitbart/Trumpkin talking points?  Do you have any independent thought of your own?

buttersrules I'm simply saying Trump has not "played 13 rounds of golf" since being elected as fancy states in this piece.

trimble Actually it's public knowledge.  I posted the guy who is the "official" White House statistician from CBS Mark Knoller As of March 5th it was 7.  It could be 13.  I'll take the word of the guy who devotes his life to this stuff over someone that is so far up Trump's ass he can't tell fact from fiction anymore.  http://postonpolitics.blog.palmbeachpost.com/2017/03/05/presidential-golf-tracker-obama-333-trump-7/

trimble I showed you evidence, from a reliable source, someone that's devoted his life to this for 40+ years.  What is "dumb" about my statement or my proof?

normalfreak2 OK, what I found dumb about your statement was “someone that is so far up Trump's ass” given that my most ringing endorsement of Trump to date was a few weeks ago when I said he hadn’t done anything yet to make me say “Gee, I wish Clinton had won”. (Still holds true today BTW) Your proof is what it is. “looks like”, “may have played”, and the ghastly "was wearing a golf hat",  whatever. I’m just saying that to report some of these 13 visits, if not all, as playing a round of golf is just stupid. Just more dumbass shit to keep you distracted.

Yeah, it's not that you've expressed support for Trump, but not his opposition, it's just that you regularly criticize the opposition but not Trump.

5-1 still equals 4, just as much as 2+2.

trimble You're essentially arguing that "by going to a golf course and taking photos of himself playing golf, Trump might not actually be playing golf. FAKE NEWS!!!" So if we cannot prove something with 100% certainty, it must be false.

I mean, it's true that if I go to a McDonalds and someone takes a photo of myself holding a Big Mac, I might not have actually eaten that Big Mac.

But chances are...I probably ate that Big Mac.

bliznik I think you are missing the point. Have you ever played a round of golf? If so, how long did it take? A lot of Trumps haunts have golf courses on them. Do you really think every time he meets someone and conducts business at one of these places he is taking a whole day off of work to play a round of golf?

Curious, what business is your president supposedly conducting on his golf courses, now that he's 'handed over control' of his businesses?

And what is the crux of your point, that 'Trump isn't as much of a hypocrite as he's being made out to be'? - Cause he's certainly spent a lot more time on golf courses than Obama did at this point. Might not even be an issue if Trump hadn't criticized Obama's golf habits.

trimble If you don't state your point, then no, I'm not going to get your point.

At first, it seemed like your point was that Trump was probably not playing golf whenever he went to a golf course and photos of himself playing golf were leaked.

Now it seems like your point is that Trump was probably not playing golf all day long, and probably didn't even play a full round of golf every time he went to the golf course, and so probably got some work done when he was at the golf course. I get that. Many of my friends golf every weekend and very rarely play full rounds...most only play half rounds or spend a few hours at the driving range.

But again, it's a guess based upon context clues, because you didn't state your point.

So if you're arguing the second point...I agree that Trump probably got some work done while he was at a golf resort. Obama probably also got some work done when he was at golf resorts as well. How much work got done by either man? Nobody knows...but I think the assumption that Trump made when he criticized Obama was that people normally don't get that much work done when they visit golf resorts.

According to information I found online here and here, the number of rounds of golf played by Barack Obama in his first 100 days was 1. So far, Donald Trump has played 13 rounds (and he's got another month to go). Now remember: This is the guy who repeatedly mocked Obama for playing too much golf.

Honestly, this guy's a piece of work.

squrlz4ever I'm surprised you would fall for the "13 rounds of golf" nonsense out of the 13 visits to resorts that have a golf course.

Hey, you don't make America Great by working in the office all day. You've got to build important relationships with fellow billionaires to get the job done!

Just watch, just give him a chance. Give him another 2 years...no 4 years...no 8 years.

America will be Great again...I promise!
