The Canadian Judge Who Asked A Rape Victim Why She Didn't "Keep [Her] Knees Together" Resigned

Submitted by: fancylad 2 months ago in News & Politics

Former Canadian judge, Robin Camp, resigned this week after pretty much everyone who heard him ask an alleged rape victim why she was such an accommodating whore?

Actually, according to court transcripts, what he said to the alleged rape victim during the trial, "Why didn't you just sink your bottom down into the basin so he couldn't penetrate you?" He followed up by asking her, "Why couldn't you just keep your knees together?"

It's probably good that he quit, eh?

This clown has been fighting to keep his job since this started, a couple of years ago iirc (it was on IAB).
Sadly? There's a lot of REALLY BAD judges in Canada, and literally no way to remove them. Set for life no matter how stupid they are.

Women have no responsibility or accountability for their choices. It is impossible that they might be culpable in the events of their life. . . That's modern feminism

He had a chance to resign, because after the official legal proceedings recommended he get tossed out, he was able to resign before the politicians (who are the only ones that can remove judges) could get him dismissed.  The politicians managed to screw things up, giving this piece-of-shit goofball enough time to resign.

The Judge probably meant 'You would not have attracted his attention if you dressed like a lady and "kept your knees together" rather than what he said

thezigrat No, what was quoted as what he said was EXACTLY what was said in the courtroom to the victim.  He honestly felt that the victim of this assault was partly to blame because he felt she could have done more.

While I love the judiciary to remain independent of political pressure, I just wish the other judges were a little quicker on the draw to get this slimeball off the bench.

I know a woman while in collage who was raped in the 1980's and that was what the Judge actually told her

thezigrat I've always found it weird, that old-fashioned idea that women are the weaker sex, yet for some reason the stronger sex just can't control themselves if a woman shows a bit of skin. So much for discipline and strength of character...

Kind of like asking a shooting victim, "Why didn't you just duck?"
It's a pretty old story already. I wonder what took him so long. He actually deserves to get a good gang rape, from the way the story reads.
