Germany Attacked: A Hamburg Tear Gas Bomb And An Ax Hacking In Dusseldorf Hours Later

Submitted by: 5cats 2 weeks ago News & Politics

A reported two children and four adults were injured from fumes as two men set off tear gas in a "packed train" car in Germany. The second such attack in Hamburg, the other being at the airport last month. Two males were seen running from the train of about 50 people and are still at large.

And in Dusseldorf, the BBC is reporting that a man with an axe attacked people in a rail station, injuring 7, then jumped off a bridge while fleeing police. He is reported to be a "former Yugoslavian" with mental health issues.

Hours later, an 80-year-old man, also in Dusseldorf, was allegedly attacked by a man armed with a machete.

Of course all these could be coincidence, and could be completely unrelated to things like Muslim students in Wuppertal, Germany told not to "pray provocatively" -- but that's just a theory.

I didn't see 5cats post anything about the Quebec Terrorist....I wonder why......

Just like that guy doesn't represent me, any religion, gender, persons don't represent the group they are apart of.  Violent people are violent as bliznik said below.

Oh by the way? that "Wave of anti-Muslim incidents" and "hate crime attacks" after the November election? Around half of them have been proven fakes by now. Not just 'unsubstantiated' or unconfirmed, but actual fakes with charges laid against those who made false police reports.

Including all three incidents in Ann Arbor Michigan...

This is the latest one to go down in flames...

5cats And the Sikh guy in Washington a few days ago actually shot himself. The fact that some "hate crimes" were bullshit doesn't mean there hasn't been a significant uptick in hate crimes in this country. There has been. Unfortunately, there's a group of people who think that the current political situation will let them get away with it and there's another group who thinks it will let them get away with faking it.

broizfam "And the Sikh guy in Washington a few days ago actually shot himself."

Where are you getting this BS from? The police and the FBI held a joint news conference yesterday to ask for help from the public to solve the crime.

broizfam There is a significant 'uptick' in hate crimes, across America and Canada too!

Against Jews... go look it up, pretty consistently rising the past 5 years or so.

5cats A lot of this in the last week or so here with threats being called in to Jewish centers. I can't help thinking, though, that a lot of this very recent stuff has been just idiots having fun making news so easily, rather than a true hate issue.

broizfam Jews have been the most targeted group for hate crimes for several decades now. It isn't a flash in the pan... :-/

And it is VERY rare that a reported hate-crime against a Jew or Jewish place turns out to be fake. But a hell of a lot of these "anti-Muslim" ones are being proven to be fakes, and even more are highly suspect... yes some are real too, not denying that. :-\

5cats Yeah, the anti-Jewish stuff is usually real. There's something about this recent wave that doesn't seem so to me. It may have started with the real thing but I feel like a lot of it is just copycatting for the news. I can't even say what it is about it that makes me feel that way. Just some gut reaction, I guess, or maybe a preference for stupidity over hatefulness.

Gerry1of1 It is always trotted out: "anti-Muslim backlash is worse that the actual terrorist/jihadist attacks are". Every. Single. Time.

But in fact? Many if not most of these "back lash attacks" are fakes! The initial reported (but fake) attack gets headline news coverage (since it fits the meme). The countless ones proven (not just suspected of being) to be fakes? Not so much coverage...

So even after those New Years mass-sexual assaults? Or the Paris attacks? The headlines and politicians in Europe seemed to be more (disproportionately) concerned about 'backlash' than reporting the cold facts.

No matter their race, religion, or creed.

So you're saying about 12.5% of Muslims support violent self-defense. At least, that's how that particular poll question was asked.

I'd say that if you poll Republicans, you'd probably obtain a much higher percentage of American Republicans who support using violent means, like, say, guns, to defend oneself.

If the pollsters asked a more nuanced question, say whether the Muslim in question supported violent Jihad against a peaceful nation that is "attacking" the Muslim religion by stopping Shariah law enforcement within that peaceful nation's borders, the number drops significantly. The devil is in the details.

bliznik That number is based on a series of polls over several years. About extreme Sharia, about Jihad, about violence against the infidels & etc. It wasn't one poll extrapolated to the rest of Islam, because various regions and nations have different sets of opinions on things, eh?

It was on IAB before...

And if you believe Jihad means 'defend yourself' you've really gulped down the Kool-Aid. I guess it was self-defence when the first waves of Jihadists swept over the Middle East, Northern Africa and into Europe eh?

The purpose of Islam is to spread the will of Allah to ALL humans, everywhere. By the book or by the sword, ALL must bow to Allah. No exceptions. Defence my ass...

Actualy EU have more people than US(near 2X) and we are much more crowded. You want to bring 3 EU years...5? Ok. no one can beat more than 30 k victims per years in the US, not even the states that have a war running inside their borders. US have a 25X risk to be killed than all the OECD(developped countries) country in the world. Those are facts and numbers and not presumptions based on some hate for religion or race.

Hmm, I wonder how this exceptionally bad night in Germany compares to the average night in Chicago.

I wonder if all those shooting events might be completely unrelated to the American fascination with handguns.

But I mean, lets take random issues and try to build something out of it.

People of all stripes can be assholes.  News at 11.

punko Are you suggesting the waves of murder and violence in Chicago are caused by Muslims, refugees, or Muslim refugees? O_o

I'm fairly sure the vast majority of violence in Chicago is caused by race-based drugs gangs, as has been the case for the past decade or three...

5cats Wha ????  I'm saying that people of any stripe can be assholes.  Nothing in my post suggested and particular group might be responsible for it.  I resent the fact that you think I am stupid enough to do that.

I'm not looking for headlines trying to make weak links between particular race or religious groups and random violence.

I simply pointed out that a large cities have a large volume of violence.  Not due to a particular type of person, just the fact that the population is made up of humans.

There are assholes in every race, gender, religion, language group, political party, income bracket, geographical location, country, bridge club, Bingo crowd, football team, classroom, train car, and age group.

Folks spending their energies trying to blame a particular subset of humanity for all of life's ills are simply a waste of air.

punko True, but the thing is:
In Chicago? A VASTLY disproportionate % of crimes (especially gun murders) are committed by a certain identifiable group. Black males between 16-28 (or whatever the precise ages are, you know who). They are not random though, the ones doing the crimes are: race-based drugs gang members. It is EASY to pin-point the problems in Chicago, and it isn't because of white people in Indianan, ok?

Same thing for Germany, France, Denmark, Sweden and other EU nations. A VASTLY disproportionate % of crimes are carried out by: Muslim immigrants, Muslim refugees and the children of Muslims.

Note: This in NO WAY says that "all blacks" or "all Muslims" are in any way guilty of anything. Nor does it say no one else (like white people or Methodists, for example) is a criminal there. That's bullshit the DNC and MSM and EU throws at anyone pointing out the facts.
But the criminal elements? They exist without question, yes? And THEY are the problem that MUST be dealt with.

AgamemnonTheGreat Sorry, the subject got confused. Do you mean Chicago or Europe? And Welcome to IAB :-)

In Chicago? It's because of gangs  and drugs.

In Europe? It's because of Jihad and Islam. The teachings of Islam in many (not every!) countries and sects is completely incompatible with a modern society.
For example: A woman who wears a short sleeve shirt and walks un-escorted in public, day or night, is not 'asking to be raped' nor is she a prostitute...

Most immigrants and refugees and 'refugees' who have flooded into Europe by the millions have ZERO intention of "assimilation" and every intention of obeying Allah.

AgamemnonTheGreat It is basic psychology, so yes. It is far easier to predict what the majority o a large group will do than it is to predict what an individual within that group will do.
And since these people were polled and voluntarily voiced their support for various violenbt jihad related things? I'd say yes, again, you using passive-aggressive attacks is useless, folly in the extreme.

5cats I think you'll find a greater relation between income and violence than between racial groups.

You want to fix the world ?  Improve income equality.

Rich folks don't use guns, they use briefcases, lawyers, and lobbyists.  Who has created more misery on this planet?
