You Can Own A Piece Of Rock History: One Of Kurt Cobain's Old Vintage Guitars

Submitted by: fancylad 2 months ago Entertainment

Attention Kurt Cobain fans! A guitar collector is auctioning off a rare Cobain guitar. It's not one of his Fenders that he favored though, this is a rare, quirky guitar Cobain heard about one day and got his guitar tech to buy for him.

It's a Hagstrom Blue Sparkle Deluxe, and really cool whether Cobain owned it or not. As of this being written, the top bid is at $5,100 and the reserve isn't even met yet so dig deep if you really want this axe.

Reminds me a little of the Fender Jaguars that he was fond of, but I'd much rather have one of his or one of his Mustangs (or even one of his Strats reassembled from parts, after being smashed on stage). This is a guitar I had never heard of him playing - I'll pass.

jaysingrimm Remember his Jagstang? The guitar he designed when Fender asked him if he wanted a signature line. It's was a cross between his two favorite guitars. That's his guitar that I want.

Quite an offbeat design, I haven't seen one of those before.

He wasn't a very good guitar player, tho... Musician? Poet? Maybe... Art is subjective

Might as well ask me to buy Steven King's drumsticks. It's not what he's good at.

Not so much a 'technical' player like Van Halen, Rhoads, Satriani, etc, but he was skilled enough, and had a knack for 'controlling feedback' like perhaps no other. Along with Tom Morello, I'd say he was one of the most important guitarists in recent decades.
