Why In The Hell Is Kellyanne Conway Telling Us To Buy Ivanka Trump's Chinese-Made Fashion Line?

Submitted by: fancylad 1 year ago in News & Politics

Kellyanne Conway, the Counselor to the President of The United States mind you, literally made a sales pitch for Ivanka Trump’s gaudy Chinese-made fashion line during a FOX News interview conducted from the White House briefing room.

"Go buy Ivanka's stuff," Conway said this morning. “It’s a wonderful line. I own some of it. I’m going to give a free commercial here. Go buy it today, everybody. You can find it online.”

What in the fuck is that? Let's think about this -- we're living in a time where a high-ranking White House official is using her influence and platform to shill for the president's daughter, who for all intents and purposes, is acting as the First Lady since Trump's wife is busy doing whatever she's doing.

How furious is everyone over this? How thin-skinned is the Trump regime?

Rep. Elijah Cummings, the top Democrat on the House Oversight & Government Reform Committee, is demanding Conway should receive "disciplinary action" for what was essentially an informercial. He said the incident "appears to be a textbook violation of government ethics laws."

Jason Chaffetz, the Republican chairman of the House Oversight & Government Reform Committee said Conway’s pimping of Ivanka's  was "unacceptable” and “clearly over the line."

A little good news though: Nordstom's stock went up 7 percent today as a direct result of Trump and Conway attempting to call out the retailer, which I think is encouraging and healthy.

Sean Spicer says Conway has been "counseled," but I don't believe it -- nothing that anyone from this administration should be believed. The cracks in this administration are showing.

It sounds to me like Spicer says "Kellyanne has been cancelled."

Maybe this is more sinister than we think.

WOW  A sitting Secretary of state put the entire United States in danger of foreign infiltration by hostel governments and the lefts call is well she didn't really do any thing because well no one seams to have hacked it. And yes what Kellyanne Conway did was not kosher and certainly she needs to be called on to the carpet. But did it but the entire country in danger? Not likely and all the left can do is call for her to be hanged from a bridge. Lets get a little relevance here and just call it for what it was a little slip of the tongue, a woman talking about a product that she likes. As the left would say if it was a Democrat no harm no foul.

I knew Trump was going to win very early on and I knew the ensuring hysteria was going to be comical but I had no idea of the intensity level. This is really something to see.

casaledana Look at the Power the Office of the Presidency has and those affiliated with it.  Trump says buy L L Bean, stock goes up 20%, look at the companies he's called out, stock drops, or in the case of nordstrom, drops then goes up.  This is dangerous, this is reckless.  He's ruling by fiat and fear.  Disrupting the Free markets by choosing winners and losers.  Making it public no less.

normalfreak2  Get your facts right he never said buy he said it was a good product (LL Bean) is it or isn't it? Nordstrums went up too, so he's not very good at ruining company's is he. He's ruling by fiat and fear.  Disrupting the Free markets by choosing winners and losers. Woww sounds a little hysterical to me. What he's been in office like 3 weeks and not one concentration camp built he better get on the stick or he will fall behind his insidious plans.

casaledana Oops I guess I was wrong about LL Bean statement but that does not change the fact that he was not presedent when he said it and of the 19 Tweets about companies I found, not one was as a sitting president. And a number of them were about bringing jobs to the U.S or stopping Jobs from leaving.

I can't believe you are still peddling this BS. Hillary didn't use her email to read confidential material. There is a whole separate government system that is used for that. The new Secretary of State uses the same secure government system for confidential material. A lot of times the information is so top secret it has to be read from papers that can not leave a secure room.

markust123  Jes were in the hell were you during the investigation she had her maid taking top secret information off her nongovernment  printer she transmitted over 1000 pieces of controlled info please she did not use the secure system to transmit anything the state department said she did not use her account once

casaledana "...she did not use her account once."

Get your facts right. Yes, she did not use her federal email. But even if she had, instead of a private email server, confidential material is not transmitted over federal email. There is a whole separate secure system for confidential material. It is this secure system that she HAD to use to read confidential material.

casaledana  This is from James B. Comey"s report on the email scandal. "From the group of 30,000 e-mails returned to the State Department, 110 e-mails in 52 e-mail chains have been determined by the owning agency to contain classified information at the time they were sent or received. Eight of those chains contained information that was Top Secret at the time they were sent; 36 chains contained Secret information at the time; and eight contained Confidential information, which is the lowest level of classification. Separate from those, about 2,000 additional e-mails were “up-classified” to make them Confidential; the information in those had not been classified at the time the e-mails were sent." "Because she was not using a government account—or even a commercial account like Gmail—there was no archiving at all of her e-mails, so it is not surprising that we discovered e-mails that were not on Secretary Clinton’s system in 2014, when she produced the 30,000 e-mails to the State Department." So are you calling Comey a liar. Or just me because I know what she did and you don't.

casaledana "So are you calling Comey a liar. Or just me because I know what she did and you don't."

I'm calling you extremely misinformed about what system she used to read classified information. See my response above.

As far as having a little bleed over of classified information on your government work email, that is going to happen. That is why they said no one would take the case. Every high level government worker is going to have some classified bleed over. You can't control what people send you. If they went after her they would have to go after everyone.

If Tom Haverford had to give up his shares in the Snake Hole or lose his government job but this is allowed, then fiction is mightier than reality.  Especially when the "fiction" was based on truths (not Alt-Facts).

Look, I dislike trump and his henchpeople(Very PC of me, yes?), but apparently some ASKED the lying fascist about trumps kid, and she was answering a question that lead into her giving a testimony of just how far her nose is stuck up her boss' asshole.
We already know trump is corrupt and has not severed his dealings, we already know trump is a fool and a madman, so lets not get hysterical every time he and his minions illustrate just how far down the drain America is swirling.

"Why In The Hell Is Kellyanne Conway Telling Us To Buy Ivanka Trump's Chinese-Made Fashion Line?"

Because this administration surrounds itself with advisors who don't have even a basic idea how government works, what the rules are, or a clue of what is in the constitution. It's almost as if our president wants to get impeached.

markust123 I definitely think this is going to wear thin on the GOP, they will impeach Trump and put Pence in.  That's what they REALLY want afterall.  I'm not sure things get better with a Pence administration.

Yesterday the Trump was using the Official WH twitter account (Supposed to be for Official Bussiness Only) to slam the stores for Dissing Ivonka's fashion line (Effectively using his office to Bully Companies that refuse to sell the Trump brand). Then Conway pirates a TV interview to sell Ivonka Merch. (Likely at the Trumps order). Spicer stated Yesterday There is no separation of Trump Org from Trump POTUS. Can anyone say Gross Ethics violations and Conflict Of Interest? I knew you could.

I agree, criticism of your presidents didn't start with Trump. He and his supporters are so accustomed to offence, they haven't a clue of defence - instead, they lash out, and try to dismiss criticism of this presidency as "butt-hurt" because the 'turd sandwich' lost.
